turbo 86 EVAP delete and how it’s working?
Hi, everyone
I got my 86 turbocharged and Ecutek tuned, just find out the EVAP plug is disconnected and cut off. First question is why people disable the EVAP? Second question since EVAP disconnect, where the gas vapor going? Thanks |

How did you find the EVAP was disconnected? CEL? Or did you just take a look under the manifold randomly?
Mine is not disconnected. In fact, I had to clamp those hoses down since I heard they blow off from the turbo since they're not clamped from factory on the earlier years.

Do you have a boost controller? That is the circuit it uses. When I got my boost controller I was told by Zach that the evap is disabled on turbo tunes anyway so it is no issue.

That makes a world of difference. The Aussie models have less strict emissions systems than the North American, European, and Japanese models. Hopefully some of the other guys from Australia on here can chime in on whether that system that you posted above is even used in your car.
I know that EcuTek can use the evap. pressure sensor input for the ECU on those Aussie models since it’s not even connected to anything in your car, but I’m not too certain about the actual workings of the carbon canister and connecting tubing/valving on your car or if that system is even in your car. |
