Engine Stalling During Cold Start

The other morning I went to start my car and when I did it started at 1,500 RPMs like normal, but after a few seconds the RMPs would bounce up to 2,000-2,500 and move around before dropping down to 600-800 and then stalling out. This happened 4-5 times and then I gave the car a few minutes and it started right up. It was about 60 degrees outside, which is the coolest weather I've personal ever ran the car in. The previous owner said it worked fine when he ran it in the cold last winter. He also mentioned he had the same problem one time with the same solution as I did, this has not happened to me since.

The car is a 2013 Scion FR-S with 51,000 miles on it. With the Greddy turbo charger kit on it, outfitted with duel catch cans and full blown oil cooler. I can't seem hear any vacuum leaks and all of the clamps are tight as well.

Any ideas?

I would start by just cleaning your throttle body.

Welcome to our forum -

I wouldn't over react, maybe it was just having a bad start day.

Have you had the battery disconnected lately? If so, maybe the ECU was just re-learning.

Have you changed the type or source of fuel lately? If so, maybe you got some fuel with a little water in it.

Maybe it just don't like the turbocharger -
