RyanITV's FI FR-S 10 Series Build

I picked up my FR-S a couple of weeks ago after selling my 2009 GTR to a friend. After 5 years with a 500hp daily driver, the FR-S feels (to me, anyway) underpowered, but was still a blast to drive.

What I'm really excited about is building the car - before the GTR, I'd built a bunch of cars - a 2001 RSX-S, 2001 S2000, 2002 Evo, 2004 NSX, 2005 NSX, 2008 Z-06. The S2000, both NSXs and the Z-06 all ended up with superchargers... lots of fun to drive (except for the Z-06, it was almost unusable at 680hp).

I prefer to do most of the work myself - it's like meditation to go in the garage and turn wrenches. As of this weekend, the only thing I did to the car was JDM side markers and 6 coats of Zaino (pic attached). Word is that my BeatSonic antenna, JDM badging and Rexspeed CF front/sides are getting delivered today.

There's a steady stream of parts that should be showing up in the next month... will post more as I install it.

Ryan

I'm excited to see what you've got in store

I really love the color on the 10 Series. Careful removing the front badge though, it's a PITA. Horrible.

Nothing will beat my 2005 NSX build - I went apeshit on that car. Will post pics tonight.

RyanITV's FR-S 10 Series Build

A bunch of parts showed up today, and I couldn't resist putting a couple on after getting cleaned up from the gym tonight.

Header, overpipe, lightweight pulley, hood struts, tail lights, springs and more unboxed. Rexspeed kit is sitting by the car. New antenna installed yesterday.

Installed the CF mirror covers - added a few dabs of 3m weatherstrip adhesive to help the double-sided tape.

Installed the Tom's DOT taillights and LED blinker relay. So much better than the chrome, IMHO...

Hoping the Perrin 3" exhaust arrives tomorrow, as I'd love to do the whole system at once and install the lip kit while it's in the air.

Supercharger should be here next week - wheels either this week or next.

RevWorks UEL header, O2 spacer and Perrin overpipe are done. The full 3" Perrin system should *finally* be here tomorrow (crazy UPS delays).

Password:JDM rear diffuser showed up; definitely needs cleared and cleaned up before installing - nice design, but not the best finish. Will get pics of it tomorrow.

Got word from OEM Audio+ that my Reference system (color matched enclosure) shipped today!
