I'd like info on this as well, if they offer some initiative before my car gets here I'm going to fight for it.

That's a load of crap. The FR-S has larger production volume. Plain and simple.

The BRZ was supposed to have sold/shipped in approximately 540 cars per month. For the first 2 months the BRZ sold 1089 units. 9 units over the original guesstimate.

If dealers are offering discounts it has to do with their specific market. Subaru isn't having any issue in selling the cars.

The issue is having cars to sell.

In Richmond VA every BRZ they get they sell. I never see BRZs sitting on the lot for more than 1 day.

Here was the the source article that the first link originated from:

http://tinyurl.com/7gexejr

Personally I would be surprised anyone would offer discounts on a car that is selling as fast as they come in. As we've seen its the opposite, with all the "Adjusted Market Value" bs. I could only see this IF a dealer has been stuck with a car for a long period of time and would need to move it.

To me, the BRZ is aimed as the premium version of the two.

I've read the article myself and I don't think the author did any proper research.

If this was true, why are there so many people on this forum that are still waiting for their BRZ to come in?

If you ask FR-S owners if they would have bought BRZ instead if they could have (since BRZ is so hard to find), I think many would answer "yes". I'm one of them. I truly disagree with this article.

Nope. I would have bought the FR-S still. I hate the front bumper of the BRZ.

That article is a joke though, it seems like a ploy to get the dealers to lower prices.

yeah it's like a 14 year old pimple faced dweeb writing the article, note that nothing is cited no actual references or instances of this happening, just another kid who's dad was someone, so he thinks he inherits intellect.

obviously this is a load of CRAP, most subaru dealerships are actually offering mark ups lol...

I went to www.truecar.com (that article's source) and select BRZ with my zipcode, people are actually paying $471 OVER MSRP.

I got my BRZ for $500 off. They offered to do that to cover my plane fare out. I flew first class. Very pleased with the deal.

I still would have gotten the FRS. But yes this is BS. These only reason I've seen BRZs sitting around is because of stupid dealers marking them up and tacking on ridiculous options.

Those assholes are only doing harm to the message this vehicle is going to drive home with automakers.
