Looks similar to ST XTA coilovers in terms of terms of construction (galvanized steel instead of stainless used in KW) with a stiffer rear rate:

Does twin tube mean compression and rebound are independently adjustable?

A simplified explanation Twin tube = a tube within the shock body, the inner cavity housing the piston/shaft and oil and the outer cavity being mostly gas Monotube = the shock body houses the piston/shaft, oil and gas with a sliding divider between the gas and oil.

Yeah it has that same gold colored metal body as the ST, but I think/hope this is more than a simple rebrand.

I didn't see revalving of dampers mentioned in feature list though. They surely would have mentioned that if it had been done for extra "features"/better sales, no?

OR Revalving would imply there's another variant of the suspension, thus cannibalizing sales of this Greddy x KW one. From my observation, ST isn't as marketed as heavily as Greddy. |

They probably don't list it under features because the description for the whole line of coilovers states "with unique GReddy specifications for damping". |

its prob a rebrand but at the same time, greddy most have selected their own spring rates/valving not to mention if you look at one of the photos there a little "rebound" adjustment knob, maybe it double adjustable?

I would venture it's rebound only adjustment. Most singles are rebound only or if adjusting both skew heavily towards rebound vs compression

But just to set some facts straight: ST is just a brand of KW, I even got mine shipped direct from the KW factory near Stuttgart. So just saying what might not be obvious to everyone, ST is KW. "GReddy US" on the other hand, is a US dealer of the Japaneese manufacturer "Trust". In japan "GReddy" is just a product series of Trust. Hence, I doubt the US GReddy dealer did any research or development of these dampers. KW already have 6/7 springs as an option on the Clubsport coilovers, so they would already have all the information to change the valving to those specs. Frankly, if I were to get the GReddy coilovers I would prefer the R&D would have been done by those who have the expertise: KW. **EDIT: Check post 18. Not sure if Greddy got their info mixed up, looks like the spring rate in the rear is 5 kg, same at the XTA. *** As for the spring rates: The 6/5 needs a more rear swaybar in my opinion. 6/5 is not understeery at all with the right setup. I think it works pretty well on track. Below my lastest track video with the XTAs. Additionally, I have ST 2-way adjustable swaybars, with the front set to soft and the rear set to hard. I run 2.8/2.0 deg camber front/rear. The short version: If I was looking for sub-1500$ coilovers, and I was in the US, this new offering from GReddy would definitely be on my list and I would probably choose them over the XTAs. I think they will run great on stock swaybars.

I have the original version of ST coilovers for the 86. What annoys me is this past year creaking/clunking started to develop and did not go away after retorquing everything. Also took months for the height to fully settle (had to raise it 3 times because height kept drooping). For peace of mind I was thinking of TRD coilovers (pricey but their parts have given me 0 problems for over a decade on multiple platforms).
These GReddy X KW coilovers got me reconsidering. Exterior construction looks too similar to my ST and makes me hesitant I will get the same drooping and noise issues. But Tor's thread makes me think these are higher build quality. Thoughts?
