While the C38 does take 'more' hp to spin it being a larger piece, it is able to move more air at given points thus keeping the power band similar to the C30 down below but able to produce far more at the higher RPMs. This is also taking into account having not changed the pulleys in either configuration. If the C38 is spec'd to the actual engine redline vs. well above for safety, then the powerband would be significantly increased in the lower rpms and even more so at the peak.
Thanks man! Really appreciate the information! So would we be fine with stock internals running the Kraftwerks C38 kit since it "should" be pushing more boost with it being a bigger blower?

I intend to do C38 on stock internals. I don't see a problem shooting for 380ish with this blower, safely, on e85, or 93, with a upgraded fuel pump, map sensor, injectors, clutch and tune.

I've wondered if there is a better place to hold it.... I'm not a huge fan of how it mounts but I haven't heard of them coming loose

Is there any secret to kraftwerks customer service? I've called 3 times with just a reply of send us a video, so I do, and no response for a week. I just figured the customer service to the end user would be better

Please explain. First, is blowing the coupler a known issue? Second, I am planning to purchase the Skunk2 radiator, how is it working so far?

Skunk2 radiator didn't include 2 screws needed for installation. Install it before the supercharger or you'll be sorry. You can install it post, but it was a battle.

Blowing the coupler was user error 100% in my case.

Question

Is it only really necessary to upgrade the fuel injectors, fuel pump and spark plugs if I am running E85?

Also, further to making a more definite decision on purchasing this kit, does boost start @ 3,000 RPM?

What do you suppose happens on 100% stock exhaust with C38? Back pressure, sure, but turbos make a ton of back pressure too. Not too worried about bleeding edge peak HP #'s. Would rather keep stock exhaust (it's paid for, quiet, OEM reliable, heat shielded).

Ok everyone who has that weird noise at 1500 rpm LISTEN UP. After doing the radiator today I took off the pipe going up on the passenger side.

Seen here:

I looked it over and noticed it was rubbing a hole into itself with the crash bar. I cut some rubber hose and zip tied it to the pipe. I also had to cut some brackets off of my headlight to make it fit with the added rubber.

The weird resonance noise at 1500 rpm is gone. Please check your pipe and make sure it's not working a hole into itself.

Tips like this, clamping the vac hoses, proper slack on the belt, etc. should be included in the first post as installation tips/things to look out for, so folks don't have to search through so many pages wondering what possible issues they'll encounter with a boosted life and this kit.

Separately, maybe another tip section for supporting mods like clamping oil cooler lines, despite spec saying you don't really need to.

Would hate for folks to learn too late after a hole is rubbed in, engine oil is everywhere, belt snapped, or burning hose popped off in unreachable area.
