I love how simple the front is! Just a square for the grill. Surprisingly not as chunky as I thought. that rising "side skirt" line really helps thin out the silhoutte. same thing with blacking out the roof line. very sharp.

looks like a really affordable aston martin! really cool design,

also love the color, very nice interpretation of the original.

6 speed, beautiful design... if i bought a new supra before this i think id be sorta bummed?

I love the LC's styling, it is basically a 'concept car on the road.' Really impressive, and IMHO, it has more 'road presence' than a few supercars.

Even the now-dead Toyota SFR concept looked damn near production ready. If that car came to market im sure it would have looked pretty close to it.

It's such a shame Toyota canned the SF-R, but I guess the business case wasn't convincing. I still think Toyota are missing an opportunity to partner up with Mazda, and use the MX-5 platform so that Toyota make a coupe and Mazda gets to make the convertible, and we have a 'hardtop Miata' option once and for all (albeit with a Toyota badge on it). I would actually prefer that to another 86 on the existing platform.

The FT-1 looked purely concept. The final Supra looks to be about 50% of it.

I had hoped the Supra's styling would grow on me, but I still think it is a bit ugly. I can't argue with its performance, but it is not a nice car to look at and I think its styling will age rapidly. The 400Z from what we can see of it, like the 370Z and 350Z before it, I think have more timeless sportscar styling that doesn't age much, primarily because the shapes are clean and there are no real fake vents, sharp edges and exaggerated character lines or creases.

Maybe I'm in the minority right now but I dislike the styling. I don't think it looks anything like an Aston, I think the current Z styling is nicer tbh, except the rear I like the rear end look. I really hope there is some tweak before it goes to production. I do however like hearing twin turbo V6 with a 6 speed manual - they definitely got that right!

I like the overall shape but the top down view of the front is terrible.

The sharp lines on the Bumper and hood don't mesh with the smooth shape of the car. Hopefully being that it is a prototype, some of those harsh lines are smoothed out for production.
The nose/grill dominates the front, and the headlights are narrow when you look at it head on.. maybe it's just the angle and zoom on the camera throwing off the proportions.

I'm super happy they kept the infotainment in the centre stack and kept the three centre pod gauges!

I love it. I agree that perhaps the front needs to just have the right angles rounded off slightly, but I love the lack of fake vents and exaggerated styling elements (looking at you, Supra!). Should age gracefully. Also, love that yellow.

For the record though C8 corvette still winning for design change and performance change.

design wise and option wise and price? i think what nissan made is something that will be the topic of many youtube videos of why the supra wasn't as cool as it could be..at least initially?

love that modern take of the hood bulge, the story of how they came up with that split headlight drl (the glass cover of the later s30 models had split reflecions) , and also how they said the grill isn't an elemnt of itself but is a culmination of the the lines that lead up to it. the "scooped" out headlight lines created by the creases underneather the headlight is i feel like the best part.

Pricing And Availability
The Nissan Z Proto is just a concept, but we expect the production version to show up later next year as a 2022 model, sporting many of the cues you see here – including that twin-turbocharged V6 engine. More details like horsepower and the car’s starting price will be revealed closer to its on-sale date, but it might start around $40,000, undercutting its Japanese rival, the Toyota Supra, somewhat.
