They are already going up. My dealer where I bought my 14FRS has sent me an upgrade to a newer model letter with the current trade in value every six months for five years now. It just started going back up. Low of 8k trade at ~75k miles. Just recently went up to 10k and change trade in value with 87k miles listed as anticipated mileage.

Look up some Carvana numbers of late, people are parting with them big time right now as they're plenty in the black to move on.

I think the styling changes, but overall 'similar' nature of the car will mean that its going to be like older miatas as far as price retention.

With ones in good condition or special edition probably being best.

No one really knows LONG TERM what its going to be like, because of electric.

There is no doubt that this type of car, lightweight, combustion, manual will not be manufactured soon. Its anyone's guess if that makes them prized or unwanted. IMO I think bog standard cars second hand value will plummet, but dedicated ICE sports cars will rise.

I think they'll retain value pretty well, and perhaps in 10 years when everything is completely hybridized/EV'd, the unmodified ones with low miles will be highly sought after.

For those who say they've made too many of them to retain such value, consider how many have been crashed, modified or weren't manuals. Also consider what the automotive landscape will be like in 10 years (will people even still be driving sports cars?).

They sold way more Datsuns, but they are pretty exy for a good condition one now.

in 15-20 years they'll be worth about $10-5k depending on condition.

The prices here are not low. not high either. No late model ones available tho. 2013 to 2015 only. Don't think the '22 will accelerate the depreciation at all.
