Battery dies, push start car in gear.... push start button

Hey I was wondering if anyone knew if pushing a car and throwing it in gear to start it is possible with a "push button start" car (BRZ Limited). This is of course in the event the battery dies.

I don't see why not as long as you had enough juice to get the car to the "on position"

You would need enough juice left to "turn on" the car by pressing the button twice without holding the clutch down

Juice..and momentum from the push. I had not thought about this scenario at all. That doesn't actually require a whole lot of electrical juice (once the engine is spinning, it'll provide enough elec through the alternator to go), so it's probably still doable, but I don't think standard good samaritan passers-by will get it done. Handful of football players or need to chance it pointing it down a hill, without power brakes or steering.

Kinda glad I cheaped-out.

I honestly don't think you are going to be able to push start a modern car...Needing to run two fuel pumps, high pressure injectors, spark plugs on top of the ignition system...As an example, I have an older Buell that unless you have a full charge on the battery, it will crank just fine, headlight will come on, fuel pump will come one, but it won't fire. The ignition system and injectors pull too much juice and there is no way to push start the bike.
