Sounds like insurance.

FWIW, I've never ever had a problem with USAA. Pay a little extra, but I've always had the best customer service with them.

Also you don't need to use the shop they recommend. Pick one that you like.

I should've known better. You have the choice to either find your own shop or drop the car off at Progressive and let them take care of everything for you. I figured it would be easier if I just let them handle it all since they were acting like everything would be covered and I had nothing to worry about.

Next thing you know I get a call from an agent completely trying to screw me over with my claim...yet of course they're acting like they're helping me out with their decisions.

I wonder how many people they actually get away with just cutting them a cheap check that's no where near the amount of damages...

almost made it 150 pages, I'd say that's quite amazing (actually I only started reading about August 2013 so maybe it came up before and I don't know).

Sorry I am out for C&C... stayed out drinking with some friends from the UK who were visiting and we agreed to meet for brunch before they fly out tomorrow. I hate that its sunday morn... if it were sunday evening I would attend a lot more

I'm not going either. My fiance had surgery and I'm at home taking care of her.

Update with Progressive: They don't want to replace my NAV because there's no proof that it was the OEM NAV. I told them, "Half of the NAV is still in the car! The thief only broke off the screen, but the rest of the unit is still there. Tell your shop to take the NAV out, call up Subaru and provide them with whatever model number or SN they need from that unit and Subaru will verify that it's their OEM unit."

Progressive said, "Well, our claims supervisor is saying that you need to do that. We don't handle Non-OEM parts. You'll have to provide us with the part numbers for whatever unit you had in there."

I guess they didn't listen to anything I said...or are just avoiding it. I had to get off the phone to get back to work. Progressive is really starting to bug me. I just want the parts covered that are supposed to be covered...how hard can that be!?

I-35 and Rundburg, behind the Henna Chevrolet dealership. Thief broke into 4 cars all next to each other. It sucks, but now I'm having to deal with insurance BS.

sounds like after this you should shop for a new insurance company, cause this sounds like a nightmare..

sometimes I think insurance companies forget what we pay them for.

If I remember that area has terrible drivers and the area as little ghetto.

So, anyone recommend a place in Austin to buy/install car alarms?

EDIT: Nvm, I think I'm gonna hit up Pro Car Audio. They have 5 Star reviews and are a few minutes away from me. I'm taking my car there anyways to get my OEM Audio installed...but I just noticed they do car security as well...so I'll ask them about that while I'm there.

I'll be visiting Austin for 4-5 days in September to scope out areas to move to (outskirts probably). Could you suggest other places I should visit, or things I should do?

Finally had to deal with the lack of power compared to everything on the road yesterday... Douchnozzle on 6th preventing me from getting into the right lane for turns, and everytime I'd slow down or speed up, including really getting on it, would just shut me down with his small suv.

Girlfriend just was like " I know you said the car was slow, now I know why you want the supercharger"
