Thanks man, I'll take you up on that offer if I run into issues when connecting them.

@chadstyle, @dwx, @Acree I am planning on getting add a circuit tap (see below image)

I will connect both gauges together and tapping them into the spot below (its not used by the car but has 12V ignition power. (See pic below, the fuse spot between DRL and Tail)

Thoughts, comments, suggestions?

With the PWM models the Ill- (the B/W wire in your diagram) is a ground while the Ill+ is still +12v all the time. With the old models you could use a simple circuit to output a 0-12v signal for gauges to use.

Probably the easiest way to control dimming is use some kind of potentiometer unfortunately. Or build something to convert the PWM to an analog 0-12v signal...

Those wires you are looking at go to the gauge cluster directly I believe to control lights which are not LEDs? So they use the old method where they are 4.1v hot all the time on one side and reversed 0-3.8v based on the dimmer switch. Just my guess.

Where in the car can I find the Ill+ or Ill- cables?

The Ill+ you can get off the TAIL or PANEL fuse or various other points. Check out the BRZ wiring manual. I'll- off the dimmer switch, radio, etc but its a PWM signal and probably not much use.

The Failsafe guague can be calibrate to use either 12V signal or 0V signal, that's why I think the Ill- "might" work. So, if I want to take the Ill+ from the Tail fuse, the way to do it is via Add a fuse correct? (Again, I apologize for the dumb questions, I'm not very educated with car wiring... at all).

Hello guys,
I am also looking for the tach rpm signal wire.... so far with no success. I need it for my Racepak G2X rpm signal. On the wiring diagram it says connector A35 pin 15 with a gray/red wire should do, but on my FRS that pin on that connector is empty.... BRZ and FRS dont share the same wiring ??

Pin 17 on connector D48 Gray Wire
Pin 15 on connector A35 Gray/Red Wire

I haven't gotten around to trying either of these yet though.

Use Pin 17 on connector D48, Gray wire.

I spoke yesterday with @King Tut and he has successfully connected it already. I'll do it this weekend.

That pin goes to a box close to the ECU. If you can;t find it, I will hook it up next weekend so I'll try to remember to take a pic.

The connector is one of the three that goes to the thin certification ECU box that mounts lower than the ECU does.

Hmm... is it possible BRZ and FRS has different wiring?

I looked under there once more and cant find the thin box you mentioned... below is the picture showing the ECU and where I think the "thin box" should be? its just a plastic mount there at the moment...

(sorry for the bad cell phone pic...)
