Mobil 1 0W-20
I picked some of this up at Canadian Tire as it was on sale...Royal Purple and Amsoil are pricey as chit up here. Got 10L for $72 taxes in.
Has anyone used it? I used to run Mobil 1 in my Civic with no issues. And I have taken my car to Mr. Lube for the first two changes, which I am pretty sure they used Mobil 1. The only thing that concerns me is it says "'Advanced Fuel Economy". Is that just because of it being 0-20? This is the stuff here, except I got 4L jugs. |

M1 0W-20 AFE is a fine choice for a stock 86 on the street. If fact, that's what's in my car at the moment. The "advanced fuel economy" schtick is that they have their fancy molybdenum friction reducing additive in there. Nothing at all wrong with that.
I run Rotella T-6 5w-40 in my turbo EJ25 Subies. Different animal / different sauce. |

Really? What kind of data supports that rumor? Mobil 1 works fine in Porsche Flat six motors.

Been running the last 6k miles with Mobile1 0w-20 as well and have had no problems at all. It's very good oil for street driving. I do plan on going back to Motul back in for my next oil change next month.
FYI, if anyone here in The States is doing their own changes and didn't already know (or didn't read the thread posted above) Wal-Mart sells 5qt. containers of our oil for about $25. (http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mobil-1-0W...l-5qt/17034374) You can't beat that deal. |

Just being on NASIOC for a few years is enough for me to not go with mobil1 on a subaru engine. I'm sure it's totally fine, but...

Been running Mobil 1 0w20 advanced fuel economy since first change, done 30k km so far and have never seen it drop any. My oil was like quarter inch above the full dot when I did my last change 5k ago and I've been checking it to see if it'll go down, not even a cm. haven't been going easy either.

I post this here at least two or three times per week, but it is a viscosity issue that is the problem in turbo Subaru's not a brand issue. M1 0W-40 is an excellent choice in a Subaru turbo and M1 0W-20 is an excellent choice in an 86. -Dennis |

Agree. I've used both M1 0W-40 in my old STI and M1 0W-20 in my FR-S. No issues even after track, autocross, and street driving.
