I would say the lack of support in terms of tuning, no. But if you have technical issues with the supercharger itself, like the intercoolers, the blower, or even piping, it may get tricky. If you are savvy with working on that stuff, I'm sure you could make do.

I may consider selling mine if the price is right. Brand new, still on the original shipping crate and box, stored in a climate controlled environment.

I am looking for a Cosworth kit if anyone is willing to part ways with theirs. I've been looking for ages! Thanks.

Hi guys,

Quick owners update regarding the kit.
As I was doing some annual maintenance around the car, I've noticed (sine some time ago to be honest)a thin sweating of oil going on both sides and on the back the SC, where it's connecting to the manifold. See photos for details.

What do You think, should be this an easy fix as replacing the liquid seal around the sc, intercooler cores and manifold?
My guess is, the only place the oil can go from is the sc gears on the front, so I'm wondering how is it looking inside.

Matt@Cosworth can You provide some hints to that? Are those assembled with some three-bond liquid seals (similiar as oil pan)?

Front right side, just after engin get into temperature.

Back of the ICs

Wet screws on the back of the IC assembly.

Some oil even accumulated on top of the engine

Cheers

Hi Folks,

Anyone have any details on the Idler pulley replacement (part number 20047175 in the manual)?

The bearing has gone on mine and I need to replace it. Trying to get to a track day this Friday and am looking at any alternatives that I can source locally if possible.

Thank you

Update: Matthew from Cosworth has been incredibly helpful.

If anyone is having a similar issue and is googling this in 10 years time, here's what I found: The bearing on Cosworth supercharger kit idler pulley (part number 20047175) is 17mm Inner Diameter, 40mm Outer Diameter, and 12mm wide

Did you ever get to the bottom of this? Mine is doing this too.

I have the blue smoke when starting the car, particularly after tracking. After looking into it I don't see how the upgrade PCV valve will help as its connected pre blower so shouldn't ever see boost?

Yes I did. Update for the story is pretty short and not so difficult.
The o-ring cord between the SC and inlet manifold (nr.5 on the drawing below) had enough. We replaced it with a 2mm one, but Matt advised 1,6 or 1,75 should be also fine.

I'm just not sure if that's a garage job since You need to take out all the SC assembly and take it apart to get to the screws (nr.8) hidden behind the intercooler cores.

In my case it came out that one of the seals under the inlet manifold was starting to let go so I've ordered a new pair from Cosworth, and we replace both of them as a precaution.

<Unrelated to the previous post>
As car was already in the workshop a few other parts was installed (14mm oil pump rotor from Reimax, Cossie baffle plate, KillerB oil pickup line, thermo plate with oil coller, and a TRD sensor sandwich plate for the oil temp and pressure sensors). Oh man 12AN oil lines will be fun to go around when replacing the air filter .

Cheers

Did you also check the oil level? I changed both (PVC and oil) at once so it may be the overfill for my case.

Hello All

I should say I'm happy to support anyone whom has fitted a kit and needs a tune

just PM me if required I'll try and remember to check in more regularly from now on

plus we still have some parts in stock ( just not chargers) so if folks need spares we can help although to be honest the issues to date have been replacement seals and idler bearings
all of which can be sourced locally for most

Hi Matt,

Nice to see you here and continue to provide support to us!

Just wondering did you help this person to retune his SC? It appears he swapped the 2400cc engine in his BRZ

Thanks!
