I don't have the data logging version but it does help a lot. It uploads data to their race studio software and you can go over it there. It also records fastest time of the day and will use that as a relative to give you predictive times. It is really convenient to use.

How was running with Revscene? I see their events are a lot cheaper and I am assuming the corner stations are staffed with turn2's usual crew.

The rules are definitely not as strict. There was not passing zones, just point by wherever you feel its safe. tech was pretty fast and easy. that being said, the event went fairly smoothly, even with a car which broke down on the track due to mechanical issues. would certainly drive with this club again.

Thanks. Point by anywhere is not a big deal, I've done that with SpeedSF down in Norcal.

Finally got around to uploading some footage of one of my Ridge sessions from 6/16. This was my first real experience with the CSG FLA and SX2 having installed them only a few days prior. I had also just installed the Winmax W5 pads, which couldn't be more different than OEM pads. I was messing up my heel-toes all day long!

If you guys have a minute, I'd be very interested in any thoughts you guys have on how to improve my time. I'm very much a novice, and have only 2 track days under my belt. I had a best time of 2:09.33, which I felt could have been at least a 2:08 or 2:07 given that I heavily understeered around The Carousel on that lap. Virtual best was 2:03.xx if that means anything at all. I think I was something like 10-15 seconds faster than when I was on stock tires/suspension in cooler conditions. Not a good comparison, but it felt like a different experience altogether.

I think I was so distracted by the squealing from my new Winmax pads—that I'm still trying to bed properly—that I could have braked later and harder into most turns. From what I can tell, I could do the following to take a few seconds off:

1) Brake later into T1/T2/Carousel
2) Downshift into 3rd going up the hill towards T3 (unless I can hang onto revs to hold 4th)
3) Wait to turn in on the carousel to avoid early apex
4) Earlier/more power out of 8A
5) Slightly later braking into 11 (at the curb if I can)
6) Go down to 2nd for 13-14-15 to get more power onto the straight. Definitely feel like I'm in the wrong part of the powerband here.

Let me know what you guys think. I don't know how much time is really in the SX2, but I was really hoping to get at least 2:06 out of my current setup.

Fastest lap:

Sector times throughout the day (excluding cooldown laps)

Also found it fun to upload the .kml files to view and compare laps on Google Earth

I will be there on the 7th. Tried to sign up for the 8th but all but the C group was full

@mistople

I'd post that in the video thread in the tracking section and see what someone like CSG Mike has to say, maybe even message him, he is very helpful and informative . I think you got most of what you think pointed out. Going to 3rd for T3 is a mixed bag since you start to run out of gear in T5, I think it may be more exaggerated in your car with the 4.3 FD. You really need to focus on carrying more speed through T2 to maintain 4th. Maybe also look at corners like T8, and T15. It looks like you tend to turn in a bit early and it hurts your run coming out of them.

Im a newbie at track, but is a decent autocrosser, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

I was going to write this huge thing about how to approach turn 1 and 2, but i think the better advice for you would be to get on the throttle earlier and dont brake so hard to start off... you were late on throttle in a lot of corners, especially turn 2, and turn 8A. I wouldn't worry about the carousel much since there is more than a few ways to approach it. You also over braked in some corners, maybe once you move the braking zone back, it would be better suited, but in the video, you scrub too much speed and its taking even longer for you to build it back up due to being late on throttle.

planning to show up at TNiA in late july, hope to see you there
