Reminds me of the time my dad took me out to teach me hill starts in my first stick car. He drove me downtown, to the biggest hill in town, parallel parked between two cars, with maybe 3 feet to spare on each end. He then looked at me, and said "drive up the hill" and laughed maniacally.

At the time, I thought he was the biggest asshole ever. Now, looking back, he did it because he trusted me to not screw it up. Dads are awesome sometimes.

Did he laugh like he meant it or did he do the cartoon sinister bad guy laugh?

Little column A, little column B

Edit: it was actually more of the laugh dads do after they make the worlds most epic dad joke.

So either the car's fuel gauge is stuck (doesn't go past a little bit over half) or there's something wrong with the thingy that floats in the fuel tank. :/

I would check to see if its stuck since I observed my buddy replacing his Audi's fuel pump, and the floater thingy, but I read its a PITA to get to with our cars.

To the dealership it goes. ughhhhh

Wait, no. How empty was it just before you filled it?

1/4th left, which is where I usually fill up.

I unplugged the negative terminal on the battery and that *kinda* fixed it. Now it reads 3/4 full and won't go up any further. Just for sanity's sake, I drove around for a bit and went to fill up again.

Leaving it unplugged overnight to see if that does anything.

Hmmm... I suggest running it until the fuel light is triggered.

Damn fuel gauge in this thing is so weird!

I'll give that a try before bringing it to the dealership. Really dont want them taking stuff apart if its not needed.

Read in the past that simply unplugging the battery fixed whatever sensor is affected. I'll do a little more digging to see if any 14's or 15's had similar issues.

He got pissy at the responses and I asked ichi to close it before everybody piled on him. He deleted it instead.

Emotional health is not a joke and I don't think that we are the best crowd at solving those problems even when our intentions are good.

And in case @Nevermore did not read my last response:

SEEK professional help SOON. This is not the place to resolve your potentially serious issues.
