One Kickass GT86 Racecar!

Anybody able to find more info on this car? Any bilingual Taiwanese here? What class does it race in? Any info on the team or even the race league? I know AceMuffler @AceHeader-MT races in a league within this organization as they're also televised alongside. But it would be cool to know more about this beastly Varis kitted FR rocket ship. It's so spec'd out and fast as shit! Punching way out of its league. Good to know this car exists.

Yeah, these guys are fast.

They have a Japanese driver who just took the Taiwan turbo championship over Evo's and STi's.

Car runs a 2.5L sti motor with garrett water/meth turbo kit. Ohlin DFV's and a bunch of other goodies.

Here's a link to their Facebook page:
https://www.facebook.com/YIHSUN.International?fref=ts
https://www.facebook.com/%E4%B9%99%E...2811902142973/

They don't have a website (like many Taiwan race teams) but they do have a good english speaker on their staff if you ever have any questions.

I live about 30min away and if you ever need anything just let me know.

Matt Nelson
Ace Header

In July I ran for a team affiliated with Ace in an FT86 turbo and we came in 2nd behind him...by over 30sec.

Sorry, I don't have many pics of them so I'll plug the other ride... The Yi Shun car is white now

Here's an onboard of the Ace factory NA car.

We didn't stay with him for long. Only repassed bacause we had an S2000 hounding us and couldn't afford to lose the place in the traffic.

Yi Shun was about 10-20sec from lapping 2nd place this race.

I'm sad now

Everybody ditches the fa20. There seems to be no love for this dual injection engine.

I think it has to do with completing a race rather than overheating halfway through it lol

That really has not been a problem for racers running the engine NA and in sprint formats of less than an hour. I recently watched a FR-S and A BRZ compete in two different classes at the SCCA Run-Offs at Daytona International Speedway. Neither had any mechanical issues. The BRZ finished 10 out of 21 in T-4 running against some well prepped cars with factory support. The FR-S was fielded by Jackson Racing and finished third out of 18.

A FR-S competed in most of the Pirelli World Challenge Touring Car races this year and held the points lead in its class for a portion of the season before a couple BOP adjustments slowed him down enough for the factory Hondas and Kias to overtake him.

The FR-S has won two classes at the 24 hour VLN races two years in a row.

When you start trying to run FI on an engine that was not designed for it and has very high compression then the reliability is a crap shoot. This is why this car and the Super GT BRZ both run the tried and tested EJ engines that were engineered from the get go for FI.

I think the FA-20 does just fine as a race engine. It just does not like boost in a racing environment unless it is just short term hot lapping like time attack. The FR-S that ran at the Run-Offs was equipped with the Factory Tuned Supercharger kit from Jackson Racing. So, At least one company knows how to make the FA-20 live with boost for a sprint race format.

Seems like a powerful race built and boosted fa20 is all a pipe dream.
