put the old ecu back and see in cel blinks with loop on 4-13 and ignition full on engine stopped
The old ecu is fried but I did put it back in and the same thing is happening. By “full on” you mean the last click before starting the car correct? Also thank you for responding 🙏🏼. I have a key switch car if that makes any difference

No the car doesn’t start on old ecu because the ecu is fried. I was trying to fix this trash wiring job the last owner did for the gauges and accidentally blew the old ecu. I took it to a mechanic to confirm the ecu was fried and they said it was. That’s why I bought a new Ecu to get the car up and running again.

Okay so i'll be needing to replace my ECU due to P0018 code. Would this process still be the same for a push to start FRS/BRZ? also Im confused on what to replace to have the alarm system and start up working as intended. Would i need to also replace the alarm system like the immobilizer? or is the ECU/ECM the only thing needed?

Okay so i swapped ecus and im trying to change the vin number via techstream but the alarmed is somehow armed and i cant disarm it. Everytime i put the car into ignition the alarm goes off. Im confused anyway so this doesnt happen?

I swapped back my original ecu and the alarm still goes off. Whenever i connect the battery even tho i havent set the car into on mode its already like this.

Assume its aftermarket alarm ? you will likely need documention on how to reset or reprogram it

Its not. Its the one from the factory. I havent even gotten a chance to do the whole 30 minute learn thing yet.

I connect the battery and some lights in the car turn on.

Thanks! ill try these things next. So i've tried just unplugging the physical horns and just to see if i could've done the 30min learn period. i tried it twice but it didnt work. I'm hoping it's like a ground or something.

Also i believe the ecu i got was for the MY15 manual just like mine but during the 30 min learning period the dash says A/T OIL TEMP. i've never seen that appear before, ever. Is that an indication replacement ecu i have might've been for an auto?

ues if your getting that id say the new ecu is programmed with an auto calibration

plug ecu in and read calid from ecu

if its auto calibration and tour car manual it wont start either

Yup i asked the seller and they said it was for an auto. =(

Calid for replacement ecu is d00d but my original ecu calid is D00C. When i tried to flash via ecutek with the correct calid rom (d00c) it said it wasnt compatible.

Couldn't get my key fob to disable the alarm even after the 30 min relearn period. I have a manual frs and accidentally got an auto ECU as the replacement but thanks to @steve99 assisting me in turning my auto ECU to a manual ECU.

Getting the ecutek tune in for my setup was the solution. key fob/security system was working as intended. thanks again @steve99
