Took the car out to Stratotech Park up in Edmonton on Monday.

Quick track, reminds me of Grand Bend but with a bit of elevation change. Ran consistent 1:10.6xx's after the first feeler session to learn the track and the second session in traffic trying braking zones. I believe the record is somewhere in the 1:09s maybe high 1:08s. There is easily more time in the car, but being at the 70 second mark for a first time out is good enough for me.

Edit: the set up of the car is pretty good, was getting proper rotation and not a lot of plowing through the front tires for once. Rear struts still are unhappy with the aero, especially going into fast corners they're hitting bump stops. There is a, hopefully, solution coming from the states to help with the suspension set up for aero. I've been saying for a while now "this will be the winter I rebuild the Ohlins" and for once I think I might be right... or just throw them on the daily lol.

Ticked off 272k on the drive home. Still kickin.

Took the car up to StratoTech for the season closer a few weekends back. Ran a bunch of 1:09.somethings, sub 70 was my goal and it was reached second session out. Definitely the best track suited for low power street cars with sticky tires, and the best lapping value by far. 2 hours of track time with minimal traffic for under C$200.

And after a long escapade with UPS new to me suspension from the US arrived. Shaftworks valved for big aero super 200/100tw tires. This will likely go on over the winter and the Ohlins to the daily... so much for stock lol.

A few small updates I guess. Ticked off 273k on the way up to Red Deer for some autox. 1st in XSA, class of 1. Did an oil change.

Picked up a cheap set of Konigs in 17x9 +40 wrapped in 255/40/17 RS4. Tires are shot and the wheels have some rash, but no bends or cracks and they feel fine driving.

Winter tires on both cars, and I guess a 2023 season recap:
Parts/Maintenance: Wang, wheel bearings, axles, tires, dialing in flex fuel tune.
Kilometers: 265kish to 273k km.
Track/AutoX: 4 autox w/ RDSCC. 1x Strawberry Creek, 1x RMM, 2x StratoTech.

After 10 years in Canada and a lot of fun on the racetrack, it is time for some maintenance. The water pump had a sweat that picked up towards the end of the summer, and I've finally got time to address it. Shouldn't be a super hard job and while I am in there I'll be replacing all the pulleys + tensioner, cleaning up the engine, and resealing the cam covers.

I haven't touched the car since before Halloween, since it's not my daily anymore and the weather sucks. It was supposed to get wrapped for the past half a year but the dude keeps flaking and I'm out my deposit. Credit card can fight with him over it.

In the meantime I got a new Solo DL cable to replace mine which keeps causing CAN codes to be thrown. Also picked up a TRD Japan Short Shifter (MS205-18001) and another TRD Sport Meter (MS418-18001) kit for the brackets (mine did not come with, I bolted through the plastic trim). Because I now have the brackets I've got a TRD Suede dash trim (SU003-07937) on order along with the water pump and all that jazz.

Pretty sure to sent me that part number but for whatever reason the TRD shifter you referenced comes up as TRD JDM shifter.

FedEx brought me a few goodies today; a Verus box and a pair of stamped steel RLCA to replace my SPL. Most of my water pump order has arrived at the dealership, just waiting on some straggler parts from US warehouses.

88 days 'til it's time to go to the track again!
