Keyless Lock Problem - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

I'm not at home and I don't have my manual with me. But hopefully someone can answer this. My keyless door lock won't lock but instead emits a long continuous beep. I know that happens if the lights are on or perhaps if the selector is not in Park or if the trunk is open or if the door is not completely shut. But all of them checks out. The only thing I could do is to lock and unlock with the key fob. Any ideas?

It a long shot but do you have your second key fob somewhere in the car?

Or maybe your passenger door is not completely closed?

If you left the ignition on any mode but fully off, it does this (I have done this). Look to see if you headunit is light up.

Bingo !!! You guys are geniuses !! I was getting ready to do smog and get my CO sourced BRZ ready for my DMV appt tomorrow and had brought all of paperwork along just in case. The 2nd key fob is in the package.

Had the same problem when my wife put her purse in the trunk to go on a hike. Glad to help.
