Cold morning canyon drive! Actually kind of icy, can see some of the ice on the ground mid-corner

Sounds good. I can't get over how it weird it looks with the tips being smaller than the attached muffler. It just looks off.

Changed out stock shift knob to the Raceseng Ashiko (specific to this generation). It's insanely heavy. Still deciding if I like the look. I do wish it were just a bit slightly smaller in diameter and height. Feels very high quality otherwise

New 2023 BRZ Limited

Brought my new 2023 home today. Haven’t done anything to it yet except drive it home from a dealer in Louisiana. First step will be ceramic coating and then some all season tires. I’m in DFW, but my family and I are moving to Seattle in a month or two, so I’ll need some new rubber boots for the car! When summer driving comes back around, I think I’ll get some 18X9.5 rims and tires and keep the stock rims for the all seasons.

First real winter test. Couple inches of snow + 25mph winds + sub zero temps.

Roads were icy (too cold for salt to work) but the car was great. Traction control works REAL well keeping you straight and track mode lets you largely handle it yourself. Obvious credit to the Blizzak WS90s, but the car really impressed me.

Wow, I thought it was cold here at 12 degrees Fahrenheit. The tires were a little slick but no snow or ice. I got a city pic yesterday.

What size winter tires did you get? Did you stick with stock size 215s? Or go with 225s? How do those tires do in rain?

Stock size, 215/45

Sounds obvious, but the colder it is, the better they are. We had 2 weeks of wet weather in the low 40s/high 30s and they really struggled for grip, almost laughably so. Wet roads + 40 degrees and you can drift like a pro. A good set of all seasons handles that kind of weather a lot better.

Once highs dipped down into the 20s (and even lower), the Blizzaks came into form. Much more confident feeling. Dry or wet, they're solid in the cold.
Braking on snow and ice is GREAT and the car is incredibly easy to control even when the roads are bad.

I added some sound-deadening mats to my trunk. I am getting it ready for the sub I hope to get in the next month or two.

I like it. Thinking about doing the exact same thing. Those overlays are the dark smoke version, right?
I think that's what I prefer aesthetically. However, I'm a little concerned about the light output. Based the the videos I've seen the output is not significantly decreased. In fact, the blinkers in back seem to be brighter than the brake lights from the factory, and the overlays bring them down to the same brightness level based on the video I saw.
