Door Pull

This is going to sound stupid, but here goes. I have to have the door all the way open to get into the car. Then when I am in the car, I am so tall that I hit my head if I lean out to get the door. So I have been grabbing onto any part of the door I can and am afraid I am going to break something since it isn't designed to be pulled on.

Does anyone have any ideas? It seems that the design is a little off. There should be something to grab onto closer to the front of the car.

I don't remember having this issue in the 2 first gens that I drove.

Wondered if that would be an issue when I saw the first pictures come out. Not a lot to get ahold of there. No doubt the after market will come to your rescue before too long.

Yea i liked the older door pulls as well. These ones don't seem as ergonomic. This problem is starting to sound a lot like the old rx7s, where people would open the window and close it from there in fear of breaking the door panels lol

Just wait six months, if the last gen is anything to go by, the doors will start self-closing by around then.

my tc 2005 coupe had handles at the top of the entry inside, and honestly, I was expecting something like that on the new brz. I'm young, and it's not an issue for me, but giving a ride to anymore after 60 or so might be a big problem

I'm only 53, but thanks for ageing me. Lol. I'm also tall though and that is more the problem for me. Tall in the torso too, so I have trouble even leaning out the window to use the ATM in this car. I know. First world problems.

I will NEVER be leaning out the window to use an ATM in this car lol no freaking way. It's bad enough trying to get my head out the window to order stuff at a drive thru. #sportscarlife

Don't have a Gen2 but does the indent in the arm rest go through or is there a plastic tray in it? Not optimal but you could tie a rope to it or maybe attach a canvas loop to it so you have something extra you can grab on to.

my thought as well. there ought to be some screws for the door hand pocket, and that door arm rest looks like it's an entirely separate piece. should be able to put the factory door grab screws through a strip of nylon wedged between the door card and the arm rest attachment point for a better grab handle.

but it might get in the way of driving the car-- might end up brushing against your leg all the time, which would be really irritating.

There is a plastic tray. It is actually where I keep my phone.
