I'll wait a year or so to see before I pull the trigger but overall I'm very excited!
The Z also looks nice too

For me, I threw down for the BRZ and I'm already second-guessing if I want to throw down on the GR86. I like the look more of the GR86.
Yeah I figured I'd just wait a year, it's fine. Maybe Toyota will upgrade it a bit from feedback..(from the reviews it's already a great car)

Im sure you can kick out any sub 100 posters

I see it clearly now though. All of the people without 86's but are still here is because this is the only place you can admit that the 86 was the superior vehicle without getting flamed
I wonder where tcoat went to.

I fear he may have tried turning off the nannies in his car and found some mischief.

All modern Toyota engines have a formed in place gasket (FIPG or sealant as you call it) on the timing chain cover(s) where they mate to the block. The ones I’ve been elbows deep on tend to use an o-ring to seal where the oil circuit passes from the front cover to the block. The FA20 used the above mentioned FIPG there. Just a slightly different way to skin the proverbial cat. The repair manual should have called out that hole was an oil circuit and excess FIPG would be problematic.

Lol, I get a kick out of this terminology! Seems akin to calling Elmer's glue a space-age bonding agent.

Not knocking it, but I get a kick out of how marketing types can come up with things. I imagine it is just sealand / RTV compound, like for a rear-diff, etc.

That’s what warranty is for! Enjoy the soup while it’s still hot, not simmering.
