I have long considered sourcing an LED trunk strip out of another car to relocate the third light to the spoiler on my '14.

Yes there is a huge boom in something’s right now. My wife sells RVs and they are pretty much sold out. We are working 7 days a week making rotors for new pickup truck the demand is so high. That bubble could burst at any time though. People that think all is great may get a big surprise. If the car was out right now it may have sold really well for exactly the reason you stated. A year from now they may not be able to give them away.
Things are not as stable on the industry as they appear.

They will sell piles now and by this time next year you will be able to pick up the repossessed ones for a song at the bank auctions.

Infact, we could improve its performance as a cheap commuter car by giving it a less powerful engine. A cheap commuter surely doesn’t even need 200HP, which is just unnecessarily increasing fuel consumption. Next 86 only needs 100HP - think of the fuel economy benefits for this little commuter car!

If they would listen to the real enthusiasts and make it light enough it wouldn’t even need an engine.

I cannot believe all rhe people going into debt with car loans at the moment.

The future is so hard to pick at the moment, employment for alot people is on a knifes edge.

I've been holding off buying anything new since March, in the chance that we go down the toilet and there are bargains to be had.

Same same for property.

well, not sure about others, but my only reason for not buying the 4 or 6 cylinder supra is "no manual". This is the only and enough deterrent factor for me at least.

Unfortunately the future is looking bleak for anybody that wants something other than a SUV or crossover. Two door coupes, hatchbacks, standard transmission, sporty & aerodynamic, and under $50k are disappearing.

Seems we're going to be stuck with minimal choices: Mustang (with renowned Ford quality), Camaro (days are numbered and it's a GM) and Civic Type R (it's a 4 door + Si is going away in 2021 but is supposed to come back in 2022 as a 4 door)

Some of the other choices are over 50k:Corvette (mid engine is cool but a bit pricey for a future money pit), Supra (just a rebadged BMW), Lexus ES/RC/LC (barely under 50k if you don't want bells and whistles). BMW 2/4//8/Z4 (lease them/don't buy them).

This sucks.
