I just don't see the need to prove I have a bigger wang by stoplight racing. I have plenty of fun taking corners in this thing at speeds that are mostly legal yet much faster than others might want to in a lesser chassis. I also do plan to get a tune, for what you are suggesting as well - 20hp or so and improving the torque dip. FWIW one of my favorite things is riding a fast twisty downhill on my road bike. 40, 50, 60 mph on a bike with nothing between you and the road and wind in your ears is exhilarating. Dropping cars on a windy road is as well. |

Traded in my vstar 1100 when I got the car. Rarely miss the bike I have to say.. Except for the first day of spring when 80 degrees breaks. I'll get another one when the cars paid

Been there, but only in my 1.8T GTI. I really wish I'd had time to drive it in my BRZ before I left Colorado... turns out the highest I've had my BRZ is 12,180' (Rocky Mountain Ntnl Park). I wonder if I'd have had to get out and push to make it to the top of Pikes, lol. |

Lol yea the original topic wasn't about validating the purchase by comparing the car to family sedans and vans. Just simply that this car isn't as slow as everyone made it out to be. When I made my purchase I was expecting much less based on what everyone was saying. And I was happily suprised when found out that the car has more power than I anticipated. That said... After my warranty is up... Turbo is going in ASAP lol. Already saving for everything years ahead of time

My roommate has a 2010 Camry V6.
It is absolutely faster than a stock FR-S. A V6 camcorder just has to smash the gas and keep it straight. An frs has a lot more to do, a perfect launch and timed shifts. Those low 6 sec 0-60 times came from abusive launches. I'm not trying to say anyone is wrong, but it's just how it is. A new V6 Camry or accord is quicker than an FRS in equal conditions. This car is not about 0-60... If being slower than a Camry bothers u than this isn't the car for you. The frs is so much funner, and much quicker in tho twisties. It's not meant for stop light races. If u wanted to smoke camrys, there's a perfect mustang V6, wrx, and genesis coupe waiting for you.

Just to be clear, when I said "bike", I was referring to the kind powered by my own legs. May sound tame to some, but try dropping a mountain road on one sometime!

The SE 4cyl are like $20-22K brand new. I personally don't see much point in the comparison though. They are very different cars, I mean yes a V6 Camry is quick off the line, but it is not a sports car. |

The Camry V6 runs 5.7s 0-60 and 14.1s in the 1/4 mile. That's faster than every hot hatch (MS3, Focus ST, GTI, VelTurbo) and sports coupe/convert (Miata, BRZ/FR-S, GC, Camaro, Challenger) in the sub-$30k market, other than the Mustang V-6.
Moral of the story? Economies of scale make it very cheap to throw your company's big V-6 into your top-selling, full-size sedan. If you're really that concerned about street-racing, go pick up a V6 Camry or Mustang.
