Finally done with break in..

It took 2.5 months with lots of patience and willpower. I don't recall hitting above 4k, and definitely not intentionally. Let the fun begin.

I live about 2 miles from my office and don't drive it in the rain(yeah I'm ridiculous, but it's my 1/3 life crisis car and all)... And it has rained a lot since I brought her home.

The best time to drive this car is in the rain!

You should try it at least once. Nannies off and leave her in second.

Would love to, but [un]fortunately I live in a residential area without open parking lots that cops don't sit in. I really should look in to tracks or something in the area to take some actual driving classes. Hmmmmm, I smell a Christmas 2013 or father's day 2014 gift idea!

Lol, at least it was only 2.5 months... I barely hit 300+ miles in mine and I've had it since Oct.

Haha, I got mine on friday and put 500km on it in less then 24hrs. Went for a nice long drive the next day along a winding road with virtually no traffic was a lot of fun.

Under the owners manual, the recommended break in period which is the period by which you allow the internals of the car to settle in, is for the first 1000 miles to....
1. Don't rev over 4k
2. Avoid hard braking, quick acceleration from a stop
3. Vary RPM/speed often
4. Don't use cruise control

I don't think the dealers know of this. On my test drive the guy kept telling me to really wring out the rpms and that it was OK since the engine was warm....

Needless to say I didn't buy that particular car (due to my color choice)...
Added benefit was not getting a car that's been put through hell for nearly 200 miles.

This is why I would never buy a car off the lot. Ive heard tons of guys on here talk about their crazy test drives where saleman encouraged them to gun it or try to get it sideways... To think those cars ended up in someone elses hands down the road, seems unfair.
