Switching EcuTek Tunes (X Company to CSG)

I've tried my best to research but just to avoid inaccurate info I'm posting this topic.

Currently, I have a EcuTek tune from "X Company" (there is no need to mention the company. The tune is fantastic and I've ran it successfully for the past 3 years).

I have a PTuning FF Kit I'm about to install, and as such switching my tune to a FF Tune from Zach @ CSG.

Question is: When it comes time to send my file to Zach, my current tune is obviously locked to "X Company" and cannot be edited from someone else, correct? Would I have to re-flash my ECU to a stock config file?

Reasons why I'm asking. I have multiple revisions of my current tune, however I don't have any stock file within those revisions. My car was initially tuned on a Dyno and further revisions done via email. It looks like my file is ZA1JF40C. Would this be the correct stock file to flash and then send off the CSG? Or could I just send my current config file and have Zach go from there?

Thanks for the rather dumb question.

You don't send your current file. Zach at CSG will send you a new base map based on your current mods/setup and you will flash over your current tune as your ecu has a license on it. He will then ask you to log with certain logging points selected. He will then send you revisions based on the logs. Rinse and repeat till tune is done

Does he need my actual stock base map or will he simply pull it from a stock ROM file?

I guess that's my misunderstanding. Just trying to figure out if I need to go ahead and find my stock file at all.

Nope. No need for a base map file. Zach already has access to all MY stock files.

Zach would be working off of CSG base maps; you don't need to send him anything.

You'd effectively be tuning from scratch, but you'd also be gaining everything that has been integrated into the CSG base maps, and effectively getting the best possible tune that is available at the time of your tune.

Just make sure he has a complete list of modifications on your car, as well as your model year, transmission type, and region (e.g. USA).

And please do not report back with your results or felling on the new tune. I have a feeling it may cost me money!

What has been integrated into the CSG base maps beyond the basic tune?
