FYI clearbra

I thought I would share some information about the new clearbra that are put on cars. I just got my car washed and waxed by a detailer. Apparently if you have swirl marks or fine scratches on your clear bra, you can use hot water to remove these imperfections.

Depends on the brand, some you can use rubbing alcohol too.

Suntek and Xpel are known to have the best self-healing property though they are expensive.

Suntek and xpel have self-healing properties. Leave it out in the sun and any swirling/scratches will disappear. FYI I have my whole front end with inner door handle area, side mirror caps, and headlights/foglights done for 1300

Depends on what you mean by smudge. If it's bug acid use water and microfiber lightly.

If it's a blemish you can use compound as you would any other painted surface. Venture Shield is pretty old and doesn't have the updated self-healing as intense as the newer versions of 3M, SunTek or Xpel. It still heals just as most other vinyls though.

3Mpro has self healing as well. I wish people in my area would pay $1,300 for the product haha. Worth it, but most won't pay it.

Smudge and in a rubbed in mark from trying to remove some bird doo and I rubbed too hard and now there are some cloudy crayon like marks. Not sure if I really have venture shield, that is what the guy gave me as a card after it was installed. He said it was 3m. What would be the modern low end equivalent?

Modern low I would consider Scotchguard>VentureShield>Pro for 3M. I only market Venture and Pro as Scotch is not nearly as easy to install as Venture or Pro.

If compound doesn't fix the issue I'd say go back to your installer and have the piece warranties if possible. If not, just pay for it to be redone. Not sure on the market where you are but in my area I'd say $150 to replace it.

And in case he didn't tell you, don't use bug and tar remover on clear bras. Can cause bad chemical reactions.

I tried to give a deal to the local 86s in my area for everything you got installed plus a couple of other small things ( behind the rear wheels and the rear bumper luggage area ) with Xpel for just 1000 and not one person did it. Seems everyone raher have wheels and other mods.
