I'd already gotten the original PDFs from another source early this morning (hadn't seen this thread), but thanks for posting about this.

That was one of the first things I tried being in the car. Nice indeed!

EDR is disturbing though... (page 16)

Quote:
SUBARU will not disclose the data recorded in an EDR to a third party
except when:
• An agreement from the vehicle’s owner (or the lessee for a leased vehicle)
is obtained
• In response to an official request by the police, a court of law or a government
agency
• For use by SUBARU in a law suit

I couldn't find anything in the owner's manual about a hill-holder clutch. I think some people were expecting that.

I'm not sure about the current outgoing crop of Subarus, but the 07 and earlier Impreza and 09 and earlier Legacy did not have a convenient way to hang the gas cap. The consensus was to hang the tether over the door striker, but it always seemed a little risky.

Only got to page 216 last night, gonna do some more reading today.

..I still think the shift position indicator for the manual transmission is just plain cool.

What type of oil

Looking at the owners manual http://www.subaruofkeene.com/subaru-brz.htm in section 6 Specs, I was surprised to see that there was no mention of synthetic oil. Did I miss something?

Thats good news! I was fearful of that nanny in the car. Do you trust that your dealer/driver would have recognized/utilized the feature or that he was just inexperienced with manuals?

All I saw was the 0W-20 specification. Nothing else much on the oil, unless I skipped over it on accident. Obviously they want you to use "genuine Subaru oil".

Noticed another thing. No snow chains except for spring-type traction devices. Snow tires recommended instead.
