Roof vinyl wrapper in greater Portland area?

My black vinyl wrapped roof film is starting to crack and peel.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a reasonable vinyl wrap artist in the greater Portland area?

I'll just go gloss black again, nothing fancy.

Do it in STEK Dynoblack PPF instead of vinyl. More expensive up front but looks better and will last longer.

I think I’m going to wrap the racecar this winter. What makes the SteK PPF stuff better than the 3M 1080 or 2080 stuff?

Edit: Four_wheel - what about doing it yourself if it’s just the roof?

The Dynoblack is basically PPF (paint protection fim), just like XPEL etc, so it's thicker, glossier, lasts longer etc than vinyl wrap. Here's a pic of Dynoblack and 3M 2080 stuck side by side to the same plastic surface. You can see that the Dynoblack looks smoother/shinier.

I have the equipment to wrap but have only done mirrors and gas flaps. I’d be into doing a roof if you supplied enough wrap to do it.

I’m bumping my own thread, but I have a noteworthy update.

It took me four evenings, at over 2 hours per evening, to remove the cracked, checked, failed wrap and adhesive, then polish the roof. There was one pin head sized dot where the paint chipped off. But otherwise the roof looks very good.

The film adhesive had actually yellowed the clear coat in huge splotches. An older thread on the forum said that the sun would make that go away in a day or two. It did!

I likely will not wrap it again. I can’t imagine going through this work every three years.

Three suggestions:

1) use a heat gun. Eventually you’ll get the hang of how long and how big a section to heat up at once. It depends on the structural integrity of the film. As damaged as mine was, I could only remove small pieces at a time.

2) Industrial strength goo gone, not the stuff in a plastic bottle for the dollar store, was the only thing I found that would remove the adhesive residue. It comes in a can. I tried most everything else except paint stripper which is likely way too harsh.

3) remove your wrap BEFORE it starts cracking. I bet I could have pulled it off as one sheet if I’d done it a year or more sooner.

A bit late.. but I saw that boiling water helps take the sheet right off. Granted yours was cracked, so it wouldn't have come off cleanly, but may have made it easier with less adhesive removal. But yeah, detailing trick for future use.

Update #2. In the past week or less, the roof went from perfect to having a bumpy, acne paint outbreak that would make a teenage put a bag on their head.

Paint guy is saying that they’ve never seen this before with OEM paint. But it’ll be about $700 to sand it down and respray it.

Industrial pollution? The professionals can’t explain how/why it could be perfect for over two months then suddenly tiny paint bubbles everywhere.

Sounds like it would be cheaper to sand it and rewrap it. The roof is pretty easy to do. I can ask my paint/body guy if you post a picture if he has seen it before.

Yeah, my body shop guy suggested that, too. It’s likely what I’ll do. $700 is a set of track tires, without mounting, of course.

My paint guy said there was either water in the sprayer or something else causing rust to form under the paint. He does not believe moisture trapped under the wrap would cause this and is likely a flaw in the factory paint.

Looking at my car when I wrapped it, the trunk where the factory spoiler did the same thing, though not to the extent yours did.
