I somehow completely missed that RDR1 got brought over to PC! I’ve been meaning to replay that for years now, so guess I know what I'm sinking my weekend into. Also hearing way too many good things about Expedition 33 lately, might have to finally check it out.

I watched this tech demo, was suitably impressed, so I bought their previous game, The Ascent, on sale. The visuals are amazing but I'm struggling with the combat given the isometric view. This is the first game of this view that I'm persevering with because I'm enjoying the art work so much.

The tech demo looks great.

Ascent looks interesting as well but I'm not a fan of isometric/"god view" games either so I likely wouldn't try it. I've played a lot of pure side scrollers, going all the way back to shareware in the 80's (Captain Keen, etc) but just never could enjoy the view Ascent uses.

Except for some online gaming with my 3 sons (we try to get together at least a couple of times a month for a few hours) I haven't played a game probably since February. Just haven't found anything of interest that I'm willing to pay the money for, or pull off my backlog

I totally get that. I have Hades in my library with 5 and a bit hours playtime. I wasn't willing to learn how to play. I now have 18 hours of the Ascent; it is too beautiful to ignore. I am still getting caught out by the way isometric view games work but I am really really impressed by the visuals.

A First Person Shooter by definition is viewed in the FIRST PERSON p.o.v. NOT some GAWD awful drone/overhead/whatever it is view.
As I’ve said before I only play the Free to Play FPS games on-line and then it’s mostly just AA:PG.
Speaking of which, there has been a rash of denial of service attacks on US game servers. It has made it absolutely impossible to play AA:PG at times.
I’ve also had major problems on this and other small unimportant forums at times. I read that by hitting lots of small services it can disrupt the larger ones but I have no idea how that happens. What I do know is that certain political groups are trying everything they can to screw with on-line information and especially anything to do on-line registering and voting.

Most likely it's about bandwidth and connections. The bigger guys are going to be more protected so harder to hit, but you can affect them by hitting smaller sites and tying up bandwidth and other services that drive everything.

I'm sure there are other more indirect ways this could hurt as well.
