Used to, not so much any more but "travelling light" is not in our wheelhouse. If MomHawk and I go to the beach, the Suburban is full up to the middle seats.

You, my friend, need a station wagon.

Yep, I don't disagree. Completely on my radar.

I agree with @Spuds , a station wagon would probably be best, but the offerings are slim. I'm currently in love with the Volvo V60/90 wagon. Probably also no harm in upgrading the FRS to just a newer twin either.

I have a Buick Regal TourX. It's not perfect, but it was highly discounted. It definitely makes for a fine cruiser at less than Volvo prices. It definitely isn't a Volvo though lol.

The Volvo is a great wagon, but I made the mistake of driving one of these once and am spoiled for "regular" wagons!

Nah, it will be sold in other places, including Australia where the mkI twins were a big success in sales terms. Australia is a right hand market, same as Japan, and our regulations are similar, so absolutely no effort is required for them to sell it here.

It’s just the hubris of certain websites, who think Europe + North America = the entire world. Thus, they leap to a silly conclusion that ‘not for Europe’ means ‘US only.’ Not so. The Asian and Middle Eastern automotive markets are booming - lots of very cashed up folks there who want nice cars. I mean, the emirates alone are the supercar garage of the world - there are probably more supercars (and sportscars) per capita there than anywhere else on earth.

Having said that, it is surprising to me Toyobaru proceeded with mkII. I’m very glad they did - affordable RWD sportscars are a dying breed and I am happy for every one that makes it to market. Let’s just hope the new twins sell really well and prove their is still life in this minority market segment.

I could get behind a CT5V wagon, manual of course when it comes out.

Ya I was sort of torn on the modern engine, interior and gauges but at that price it is a driver not a show car anyway so may as well have the comfort. A good restored to original would be even more than that if you could even find one for sale. Most were retromod but there was one perfect original one that was priced at "Call us" because if you have to ask you can't afford it

MomHawk is very wise. Everyone should have a red Mustang convertible at least once in their lives.

Nope, I do not agree. I have driven almost every iteration of Mustang and have been unimpressed with each. I think everyone should enjoy a true "Muscle Car" like a Hemi Cuda or a Big Block Chevelle at least once. Everyone needs to experience the thrill of a Lotus Super 7. There are numerous automobiles that enthusiasts should try at least once. There are even some that they should own to fully understand their magic. But, a generic red Mustang convertible is not on that list. No offense to Momhawk or yourself.

No offense taken. Not my first car of choice either.

That said, there is some magic associated with the Mustang convertible going back to it's roots almost 60 years ago. It has nothing to do with being a muscle car, because for the most part, it isn't. It's that "pony car" heritage of riding the open road with the top down and just enjoying the cruise. It has a carefree attitude about it you don't get from huge HP or smoking tires.
