Have you already touched something up using the paint pens? I'd love to see how close a match it is, especially since their online colour basically shows it as black! (not confidence inspiring)

Did you use primer as well? Clear coat after?

Dude I'll be honest, I have no idea what I'm doing with the paint haha. All I know is I have some paint damage and I'm going to need it some day. My plan was to take the touchup paint to a shop and have them do it. My Toyota dealership didn't have this paint, nor were they able to procure it in a timely manner.

Here's an imgur album of the paint I bought, plus a really crude paint comparison with my car: http://imgur.com/a/0aRez

That does look like a really good match! Can probably chalk up the finish differences to the sample material you are painting on, number of coats, or clear coat, but colour-wise looks excellent. I'll have to order some eventually, just in case.

Thanks!

Welcome! Love the old 86's you've got too. Have those been difficult to maintain over the years?

Just got a msg about the Valenti tails, and thought others may be interested. I went with the Valenti red and white.
Got a shot with my friend who parks in the same lot as me so you can see the difference between OEM

Have you considered a matching Valenti 4th brake light? Completes the look rather nicely. These are black/gold.

Thanks!

I don't hate the stock tail lights, they're just nothing to write home about. The red and white's look good though; sharp, and definitely goes with the lines of the car. It's like they could almost be OEM if they were a little more white/clear.

I also like the black and gold with the matching 4th brake light from @LetzROQ . Adds a lot of black to the back, which works well with your blacked out logo.

Decision decisions...

Am I the only one bothered by the amount of light the Valenti put out during braking? They do look great though!

I have the black/golds arriving at my doorstep this week! Good to know they look damned good with a black badge (I've got a matte black T badge). With my 50s CA legacy plate, I'm sure it'll come along as nicely as yours!

Holding off on the valenti fourth brake light though. Something about the stock one I really like a lot... like it's iconic, or something.

One other question; are those paper license plates? I've seen paper ones in Nevada and I've always wondered what the deal is with those.

Not paper, they're standard metal plates.

And here's what the black/gold tails looked like with the stock 4th brake light.
