Went out for some fresh air before it rains for the whole week (supposedly) and decided to take some photos of the car. Here are a couple:

Lol.
I was so close to getting an Alpine unit to get the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto... but one day looking at my phone mounted on the vent, an inch away from the head unit and felt a bit silly. Decided maybe later.

The BRZ sound system is actually pretty good... ever played it while the engine is off? I think the audio problem is the lack of sound insulation and the interior acoustic design.

1. Dropped the rear subframe to install some PBM diff/spacer bushings. hopefully this will help axles live longer.
2. rebuilt axles w/ Redline CV grease, vented boots.
3. replace 4.1 diff with 4.3 diff from a 2017
4. rebuild coilovers w/ new bumpstops, lube bearings, etc.
5. whiteline front bumpsteer kit
6. Front camber bolts to get just a lil more grip out of the front end.

Switching from 4.1 to 4.3 is one of the best things I’ve ever done to this car, would recommend it to anyone.

Even better if its for an auto twin !
Perfect for max acceleration on our local racetracks without overrevving on the highway.

This weekend's fun:
1-6. Finished all the details in the above list.
7. Installed new Accusump
8. Changed the oil
9. New trans fluid

.........
Tonight's after-work fun is setting up scales to do alignment and corner balance.

Verus Engineering all the things!

Been a bit of a process experimenting with all the variations of Tiffany Blue out there and these RPF1 inserts were worth the wait. revlimiter.net is a new kind of perfectionist.

Does this basically make the engine spool up faster, having a better ratio? Is the difference noticeable vs. the older 4.1?

I hit my front lip at the parking lot last night, so check to see if it broke or not. Thankfully didn’t broke off or have any crack.

spool up faster? depends on what you mean.. but yes, the car will accelerate faster in each gear. For the same vehicle speed, you'll be at a higher RPM and these engines make more power the higher they rev. so the faster you can spin it, the faster you'll accelerate.

in my case, it comes down to gearing and min corner speeds on track. There are a few corners where I'm down to about 50mph. that puts my right at the top of 2nd gear (two more shifts in the turn), or bogging at 4500rpm in 3rd- below the power band.

so with the 4.3, I'll be roughly 4700rpm at the same spot on track, a little higher in the powerband, and a little more power coming out of the turn so I get back into the power band quicker.

At the end of the straights, I was hitting redline in 4th about 2-300ft before the braking zone. instead of holding it at the rev limiter, I'll now have to shift to 5th well before that same spot and I'm hoping it will reduce lap times and strain on the engine running it near the rev limiter.
