This has been driving me nuts since I got the car and kept on tightning the screws but it keeps happening. Just went through this whole thread now and noticed the updated part number. Calling my dealer now to see if they have it. Thanks guys!

They have the part but can't find any service bulletin on it. Darn part is $23 here in Canada. I feel so ripped off lol

Go to Homedepot and get some flat top machine screws 8-32 X1/2 (nonself-tapping) and replace the 2 self tapping mounting screws. It may help to also put some threadlocker on them. I had the newer bracket mount and had the same loose/wobbly mirror issues. Swapping the screws out completely fixed it.

This is good to know, I already bought the new kit and seems to be ok now. If I notice it going wobbly going to get the screws for sure. Thanks for the sizing!

The plug for the wiring harness. This project took me about 45 min most of which was fighting the ends together with one hand.

Found both the dimmer mirror and the adaptor far less expensive on eBay.

Adapter: H501SSA041
Same price ($11.49) but free shipping....Subaru wants $9.99 for ground rate.

Dimmer mirror: Gentex GENK2AM Auto-Dimming Rear View Mirror OEM Dim Black Rearview Replacement for $75 instead of $125, also free shipping.

Do you have a part number for this? I have tried 2 and both were wrong.

Updating for anyone that references this thread in the future. The part number that worked for me to connect the mirror to the frs body harness was H501SVA002 3 pin to 5 pin
I bought it here: https://www.subarupartwholesale.com/...501SVA002.html
