Fortunately, I have video evidence of it happening, but I'm wondering if you guys know if I can even hold my employer liable for this? Nothing at work indicates that I shouldn't ever park there, and I believe there is even a document that shows where you shouldn't park.

What do you guys think? I understand this isn't a legal forum, just wondering what the smart move would be. I'm gonna submit video to insurance when I can.
What was it that fell and where did it come from?

We had a situation at my last job where the arm of some towed equipment got loose and took out 3 or 4 side mirrors before it was noticed. Obviously those repairs were paid for by the company's insurance. Not sure how that would apply to unidentified falling objects though.

Side note, I know this because one of the cars hit was a friend's ford explorer that he had bought new 10 days before...

Worst heater core I have ever had to do. Almost 3 hours in and still not to the core.

I give up, what kind of vehicle was that? -

It might have been easier to cut through the firewall from the engine side with a torch to get to the heater core -

It’s my beater hunting rig. A 2000 Nissan Xterra. Everything on this rig is hard to work on.

Our favorite breakfast restaurant in Adrian Oregon re-opened this week after 6 months. I think I'm about to slip into a biscuits and gravy coma.

I think I need to go back to the VA and talk to them about anger management. I seem to get too irritated by all the traffic when I try to go on country drives. I feel I have to drive a minimum of 1-2 hours from Austin to really enjoy back roads without traffic.

not all that different around me. just need to learn the right non-common routes to take.

every year, we head down to middle indiana for the covered bridge festival (still going this year, but only because we already made camping reservations, no festival). about a 2.5-3 hour drive most times.

the best/fastest path down that way is i-65. problem is, i-65 is a 2-lane highway, and every other highway in my area is 3-6 lanes. so the majority of people traveling on it have zero lane discipline. one person's doing 55 in the left lane, someone else is doing 95 in the right lane, truckers are usually holding 45 in the right lane while bouncing off the rumble strip for some reason.

it's just chaos. for 2 of the years, i'd drive down, and arrive at the campground all worked up from fighting traffic like i'd been in the city all day, when i had really just driven 3 hours through wide open farmland. after getting sick of it, the last 2 years, i took us-41 all the way down. it adds about a half hour overall to the trip, but 20-30 minutes from my house, it opens up, and i'll barely see 10 cars the rest of the trip there. i get to the campground way more chill and relaxed, and can feel like i'm actually on vacation earlier.

From what I gather off my dashcam footage, it was actually a pallet full of TVs that was stacked up pretty high up, like reaching the top of the warehouse building. It was several feet from my car at the time. Based on the video, the stack must have collapsed and the highest pallet then struck the rear quarter panel of my car.

I saw nothing wrong with where I was parked at the time, so I'll take pictures of the designated parking spaces (there is a diagram of it) and let my company know.

The best part is the replacement core doesn't come with the proper outlet tubes, they are only available from Nissan as far as I can tell. Guess which part of it is leaking ? I will be keeping a piece of 3/4 tube and a couple hose clamps in it just incase

I took a shot in the dark and bought a trailer wiring kit that had a plug for the shell car... Yeah that didn't work. But it was cheaper than one with separate wires anyway haha. So we went into surgery... But alas they work now and I got my my little sailboat home for the season. We went for one last sunset cruise... I swear the sea gods were teasing me. Or maybe it was just a fond farewell...

Yeah, that's what's bothering me the most about this, because this is gonna be a question of who is liable here.

At the same time though, I've never been told not to park there and I have seen other people park in that exact same spot. It's all anecdotal though to be fair, and if I end up getting nothing out of this except myself footing the repair bill, then I will take that as an expensive lesson learned.

I actually was able to take a look at the document regarding the parking spaces, but it seems pretty outdated by the looks of things (like, you have people parking in spots where it's explicitly marked not to park), and the spot I am in isn't even designated in any sort of color. However, at the time the parking document was made the layout in the photo was slightly different from how the parking lot is today.

I'm getting security footage right now and I'll bring this up to the higher-ups. I'm honestly expecting a struggle but I'm hoping they'll be honest about it and not just tell me to pound sand.
