Today I finalized my header installation by taking my car for a drive, let it cool down, rechecked the torque on the nuts for the header, and put the under tray back on. Once that was done I removed the clutch pedal spring and adjusted the pedal height.

So far I'm very pleased with this header, over pipe, cat back, and stage 2+ off the shelf tune. The torque dip feels like it's entirely gone, the exhaust isn't obnoxious, and the car actually feels like it has 200 horsepower now.

I did the same as well. Installed my nameless AB last weekend and this weekend installed tomei uel header and flashed the base oft stage 2+. Dip feels completely gone, car sounds like race car and makes me giddy. Left stock op, fp, and mid pipe. It's loud but in a good way. Gotta admit with the stock header the AB did not sound very good but with the catless uel it sounds so good.

Were the new springs for a softer less-jiggly ride? If so, what is the model number please?

No. The opposite, actually. They're a bit lower and a touch stiffer.

Definitely not softer, a little firmer but not harsh. Although they did take it from a 3.2 to a 1.7 on the Tradwell-Elliot Jiggle Scale.

I had my first oil change done at 10,000km. Went with amsoil signature 0w20 and a amsoil filter.

Gutted the back of the car and all stereo equipment. I'm getting good at this. I was done in 1.5 hours.
Going to play race car for a few weeks.

Aside from the torque dip, does the car seem to have more oomph with the UEL header and stage 2 map? I currently have the OFT stage 1 map installed, but have been contemplating UEL + stage 2.

Yes. If staying NA the 2 best mods are Headers and a proper tune. OFT tunes are good, but a good etune by @steve99 or @Tor will be able to unlock the most potential and still remain safe. A lot of good choices for UEL headers. JDL, Tomei, are great affordable choices. An even better choice is Gruppe-S UEL(99.9% same design but cheap at 475$) but stock comes and goes.

Today I made a nice hardwood floor for the trunk of my car. This is very popular in the VW community where I come from (yes, I had one in my car). Home Depot had some engineered hardwood on sale for $25 for 20 square feet, so I bought a box and got to work. I think it turned out much better than the one I made for my Jetta, looks quite classy, and protects the carpet from damage.

I see no resemblance. The planks in my trunk go horizontally, whereas those are going vertically
