another complete gearset option in the works (Jacks Transmissions

As many of you may know we build frs/brz/ft86 manual transmissions. And at one point we were looking to have a gearset made. Well after much delay and switching manufacturers we are moving forward with a full 1-6 helical synchro gearset. to support big power.
We also now own a FRS shop car we will be building for testing and proving what these can handle.
we are working out ratios now but if we can still to our timeline these will be done by the end of the year.

We will have 9 sets available in the first run and we will be offering a discount to those that pre-order.
if you are interested please contact us.

Hey Jack, thanks for supporting the platform! Could you give us some technical information such as gear ratios, manufacturing processes, reliability data etc? It will better help the community understand the product.

After destroying my second transmission in a year and a half, I took the rebuilt route in the hopes it would last longer than a season. I've been running a Jack's rebuilt in my track car for the past year. I've been testing some of their prototype parts and its been great. These guys know their stuff and their customer service is top notch.
Full review coming soon.

Nav, sorry for the late reply.
had to get our account sorted out.
tThese are being made by PPG, we are in the process of selecting ratios now.
one of the purposed sets. would have the following ratios:
1st 2.667, 2nd 1.800, 3rd 1.350, 4th 1.080, 5th .913. and 6th.800
with factory tire size, factory rear diff ratio (4.1) and a maximum rpm of 7500 this would allow for 46 mph in first, 68.2 in second 90.9 in third, 113.7 in 4th,
134.5 in 5th and 153.5 in 6th.
there are a host of other possible options but PPG likes this one for both drag strip and road race use. with the wide variety or final drives the whole stack can effectively be moved up or down for specific use.
the goal with the design is to make it modular. so 1-2, 3-4, and 5-6 could be changed or interchanged with factory gears.
the first batch will be a full set but eventually individual "pairs" of gears could be sold.
let me know if you have any more questions.

unfortunately quality aftermarket gears are very expensive regardless of what they go in.

Interested in the pricing here, is this something that can be posted - or do we need to contact Jack's directly?

And completely worth it. One will be going in my car (I'm on #4 in 3 months).
