For thirty bucks, can't go wrong. Worst case, they're garbage and I sell them to someone for 20.

Without considering time and effort that's still ten bucks of wrong.

You could buy someone else's used wrong for 20 and break even when you sell.

It'll be 10 dollars of entertainment for a lonely, bored guy who doesn't need to go to work until april.

That ten dollars will cover the joy of receiving the pack, unboxing, install and testing

This should help with your run of the mill mini quadcopter. If yours has multiple stability modes, put it into the most stable for learning.

The trick is to start with just the throttle. Go to the most wide open room you have and place it in the center. Get it hovering about a foot off the ground, then gently put it down. Then repeat. It will likely move laterally a bit, but that's fine. If there are trim controls, you can try to balance it out.

Next add in rotation. Hover a foot over the ground and then rotate 90 degrees. Then another 90 degrees. Repeat in both directions.

Next, add in a small bit of forward motion. Might want to just add some trim to make it go without using the right stick if possible. Use your hover and rotation skills to keep it from hitting anything. Once you have that down, use the stick to increase speed a bit. At this point you are likely to start crashing more since you need to modulate the throttle at the same time. Master this and you are 80% there. Keep increasing speed as you get better.

Lastly, when you start zipping around the room, you will notice that rotation just isn't cutting it for the turns you have to make. That's where you add in roll. Same motions as before, but when turning, add just a pinch of roll to keep it in line. You will need a bit more throttle to make it without losing altitude so expect to crash when adding roll in.
