My thoughts exactly. First time I ever saw this car I thought Toyota 2000, one of my dream cars. Most folks tell me that it looks like a 240z

Ultra-niche product, expense of re-branding, re-training staff, etc etc. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the end of the road. I wouldn't be surprised if they let Subaru push them for another 2 years or however long the manufacturing contracts are committed.
Wonder how it will effect resale values; traded my nearly mint BRZ (seasonally driven), mostly stock (bolt-ons, not noticeable to other brands), last month and I had to push the dealer hard to give me what I knew was fair. Granted I was trading it in on a Mercedes, but I had already gotten an offer from Subaru as a gauge (2013 prm, manual, 28k, $16,500). I was so incredibly disgusted by the lack of value retention in this platform, when Foresters of the same vintage dropped by a smaller percentage. I figure in 2 years, I can grab an FR-S as a weekender for $10-12k. I will say that while I'd rather have a sports car, the GLA250 does quite well for it's weight and size. The turbo really punches it, which is what the 86 was dying for. Last edited by gily25; 02-04-2016 at 01:28 PM. |

I do however see current FRS owners trading their cars in once the newer/better model comes out, and switching them to Scion badges since they once had them on the car.

I want to do that already haha! But must ignore teen impulses. Perhaps Id go with a WRX or BRZ. I love Toyota to death, but mang....... not worth for resale value!
