Engine cut while on the freeway

As the title says, I was driving home from the in-laws going around 70mph (freeway). I noticed a tapping sound that I never heard before. I only heard it when I stepped on the gas. I decided to slow down and down shift. As soon as I took it out of 6th gear the engine cut. I still had lights and power so I knew it wasn't the battery. After that she would no longer start. (Car is bone stock and has 110k miles)

Long story short I had to get it towed home that night. I put the OBDII on it and it gave me p0102 and p0113. I brought a new MAF sensor thinking that was it, witch to be honest I don't know. The car started but had a rough idle. The tapping sound is back and if I step on the gas it turns off again. Its now throwing a new code. Code p0108. I am going to test the MAP sensor tomorrow with my multimeter and look to see if I find any vacuum leaks.

I'm just wondering has anyone had a similar problem? All and any advice is appreciated

If engine is making horrible mecanical noises is very unlikely its sensors it likely spun bearing or rocker or valve spring.

You very likely wasting money throwing random sensors at it

Have your battery and alternator checked at autozone, bad power being supplied to the car can screw up the the entire electronic control system in your car and all sorts of sensor issues. Make sure power system is good and then go digging deeper. let us know what you find out

x2 here

if you hear mechanical noise, not sensor related
rough idle, then maybe but hearing metal noise is not good
since your car is stock level at 110K mile, i would just sell it or trade it for new car

This was what I was afraid of. I wanted it to be a sensor so bad
I did take the battery to autozone and they said it was good. I haven't checked the alternator yet. I also was able to check the MAP sensor with the meter and it read fine

The last thing I am going to do is check the oil... I am not going to lie I am dreading it. That is going to have to wait till tomorrow morning though
