You can also get an external battery bank too. That way you can pick a camera you like and not forced to use 1 or 2 kinds

I have this one:
http://www.ojocam.com/ojocam-pro-das...act-detection/ There is a "bargain basement" one for $89 that has most of the same features, I just like the GPS functionality. |

Word of warning--putting it in this mode makes recording kinda funky when you are on the road, as in it doesn't necessarily start recording as soon as you turn on your car (this is what happens when in "normal" mode). That said, I'd still recommend this camera. |

Is it easy to change on the fly? Meaning switch it over to motion detection mode when you park?

Depends on how you have it mounted, mine is up high on the windshield behind the mirror, so its not the easiest for me to get to. But you have to go into the main menu and switch it over. So, if you know exactly what to do, probably could be done in less than a minute. So not an on/off switch, but not totally impractical.

Just ordered the pro 2 on amazon. I'll give a review after I start using it for a bit.

One last thing--be *very* careful mounting the base--I can tell you from experience that its a total bitch to get off if you mess up.
