Im following with interest as im planning to use mine as a dedicated track car. Please do let us know what upgrades you do and how they hold up at the track - particularly the brakes

I ordered some brake pads and high temp fluid, I plan to run the stock calipers with good pads and fluids for all of 2022 unless I run into issues. I ordered a set of GLoc R12 pads (same as the Carbotech XP12) for the fronts and I have some R10's for the rears.

I have 2 sets of Apex Arc 8's, one with Hankook RS4's and the other with Falken Azenis RT660's both 17x9 wheels with 255/40-17 size tires. I have the factory camber bolts from the old car that I'll toss on for just a little camber. I'll probably hold off on reusing my JDL UEL catless headers until tuning is available, and I'm not sure if I'll transfer my Ohlins coilovers over to the new car.

I am not sure to be honest. First was cramped, but there was a gap of 3 months between cars, and kids are growing too fast, so wouldn’t be a fair comparison (gen2 seemed worse)

Installed LED dome lights. Googled around found out the dome light is just a simple 194 bulb. I had a bunch of 194 LED bulbs when I bought a cheap eBay pack for my Miata license plate lights.

Fit right in and decently brighter than stock. Uses less power and doesn't get hot now so nice free upgrade for me. Took 5min to do.

You should change out the ones under the doors and the one in the trunk. I think they are all the same. I was planning on ordering some from Amazon. I was going to get the fuse style for the vanity mirror as well. That reminds me in need to check the type needed over the tag too. They do make a great improvement over the stock bulbs.

You may want to take a look at the tag lights. I think they may be a non standard led.

Washed for the first time. Reasonably clean for December.

Winter wheels are Enkei Hornet (17x7.5 +45) with CrossClimate2 (215/45-17).

Trunk is 194 too. I popped one in there last week when I did the dome. I'll have to check the door. didnt know there was a light there LOL

Edit: huh, guess there is a light under the door. Can confirm that's 194 too and my spared popped right in.

Got my car back from the detailing shop with some xpel PPF for the front bumper + headlights (they added a free coating of opticoat as well!). Sadly, there was already one tiny rock chip on the bumper after 250 miles of driving.

Installed a set of 18x9.5 +40 TE37 that are barely clearing the front struts this past weekend. Hopefully installing coilovers and camber arms this saturday. Really happy with my decision to upgrade from the previous gen with all the part compatibility .

Would you happen to know if they used a "template" or something cut by machine for the car or just freehanded the xpel? A shop that I contacted to get PPF said they needed scans for this model, which I'm not sure about.

My front end is currently covered in tracwrap while I'm waiting

They didn't use a template - completely freehanded. The detailer usually works with Tesla's (most popular vehicles in SCAL/OC), and he said this new BRZ bumper is a lot harder than the first gen and way harder than any Tesla's he normally works with.

A lot of places should be able to get this done without a template and just a big piece of PPF + xacto knife. My previous 86 had Stek Dyno Shield applied freehand in 1 piece as well.

One thing to note was that there was some difficulty with getting the license bulge area in one piece. He ended up having to add an additional piece on the protruding flat area.

Took delivery of mine with my adventure bud and hit a milestone.
She may need to go back to the dealer, after 100mi the reverse lockout plate is misaligned (port installed short shifter is probably the cause).
