I am signed up for The Ridge on the 16th.
I also have a set of Velox camber plates for the stock struts( I think these also fit kw/st coilovers) for free that I will be throwing in my spare parts bag. There is some damage to part of it so I don't feel good about selling them. If someone wants to order the parts to fix them from Verus they are all yours. |

You and @NoHaveMSG were laying down some serious laps on Saturday!
This onboard is super useful for me to learn. It looks like your occasional downshifts to 2nd were really helping you power out of corners. I also apparently need to brake way later in a few sections, and get on the power earlier in others. Maybe those tires just aren't very noisy, but I'm amazed at the grip you have at turn 2. My SX2s were howling in protest and sometimes plowing a bit going up before heading up towards 3 and also around the carousel. You were easily 10mph faster than me before you hit the brakes going in to 8a! Also amazed how fast you got on the power out of 11. I'll upload some crappy Harry's footage tonight. I was able to shave >15 seconds off my best time set with stock suspension/tires. Track conditions were totally different then (recently dried out track on 50-60deg day), but it still felt like a huge gain to me. With the SX2s and CSG Flex A, I walked away with a best time of 2:09.33. Lots of room to grow. Great driving from both of you! Nice to meet you guys. Next time I go I'll run some comparisons on that corner to see which is best, but my general practice by the end of the day was to stay in 3rd unless I wanted to pass someone on that last straight. 2nd for 13-14-15 is a no-brainer, though. It gives you such a huge power advantage out of T15. Quote:
Edit: I worry that if I get much faster through 4 and 5 I'll run out of 3rd gear mid-corner. Will have to watch out for that if I go back to RE71Rs or R-comps. Last edited by kch; 06-18-2018 at 01:53 PM. |

That Camaro almost caused more than one serious accidents. I have no idea how he wasn't black flagged for brake checking the RX8 on the back straight. We were going 37mph behind him getting no points. Ugh. |

Friday the 20th with IRDC @ Pacific Raceways.
If you don't set a tire on track - they don't charge you. So there's no risk to register. https://www.motorsportreg.com/events...-events-259961 HPDE details at bottom of registration page. If you have questions, or are unsure if you qualify to do HPDE with IRDC, please email the Chief Driving instructor.

I actually stay in 4th through 2-5. I don't shift into second anywhere on track. Though I think it is mostly due to me being a bit lazy with my shifts, and I like the higher gear to keep the rear of the car in check in some situations.
I forgot to turn on my gopro the last two sessions which were by far my best as I was averaging around a low to mid 2:05 in those runs. I wish I had video to compare where we are different and if the shifts matter. All I have to go on is my Aim data. I was defiantly pushing the car too hard into the corners and trying to brake too late. I don't know why as I don't normally drive that way I was cooking my tires and front brakes about half way into the session |
