I have the sti switch out I just can't see how to remove the trim ring(because I want to paint it black)

Can anyone tell me how to wire the Sti push start buttons with an indicator light? I’d really love to have the indicator light on my BRZ. Looks like on the WRXs the indicator light turns on when you are in proximity, then turns off once the car is started. The text of course illuminates when entering the car and when headlights on.

Ones with the indicator light are these part numbers, and are meant for WRX:
ST83031ST011
ST83031ST012
ST83031ST040 (2017 update)


All the buttons intended for the BRZ do not have an indicator light:
ST83031ST020
ST83031ST021
ST83031ST030 (2017 update)


Looks like others have gotten the indicator light WRX buttons to work. Would love help with the wiring!

I recently installed an STi start button in my 2013 BRZ and it was totally plug and play, but there is no indicator LED. I ordered this part number from a dealer online for like $94 (83031ca023).

Here it is installed:
