Front license Plate

Ok... bought the car in Arizona. No front plate required. Never had the front fascia drilled. And I like it that way.

But here on the Big Island, they frown on that (no front plate).

So I want to fasten the plate frame TOTALLY in the grille area (got a spare).

Any insight on whether this will cause overheating?

P.S. And I hate how that plate on the passenger side thing looks....

It might blow up ... but seriously no, it shouldn't be a problem.

There's a front licence plate bracket thing that is mounted on the grille, not the bumper, if anyone does the latter they're fucking dumb. There are also an infinite number of tow hook mounts, and then there are zip ties which you can use to cheaply and easily attach a plate to the front grille.

Punch some holes in the plate to let the air pass.

I've never had any problems with overheating (or even seen the temp gauge close to, let alone passed the half-way mark) even sitting in traffic in August in Houston with 100 degree temps and AC blasting full. I've had a front plate installed since day one.

Drilling holes in your radiator helps get the cold air to the engine as well

I've had my front plate in the center of the grill for 3 years, no overheating problem here.

Plus from a distance putting your plate in your grille makes the car look like a bucktoothed rabbit.

One nice thing about Texas, I have a black license plate so it blends in nicely.

i never understood why dealerships drill the bumper when the grill has 2 little indicators on where to drill.

Yea, I hate seeing brackets/plates drilled into the front bumper from dealerships, especially on luxury/sports cars when the manufacturer provides a mounting point.

I believe there was a member on here that used neodymium magnets to create a bracket iirc.

Found it
