Yea, but a mask wouldn't have hurt their effort.

There are lots of photos of them on a bus, and on a private jet, with no masks. Politics aside, if you are in that situation, unvaccinated and unmasked you may be eligible for a Darwin Award.

No argument from me. Just remember, over here being brighter than dimwitted is a fundamental disqualification for office regardless of political party ID.

Edit: We choose the leaders we deserve. In Texas we are the independent type - we insist on the right to elect the idiots of our choice.

H.L. Menken once said democracy is a form of government predicated on the presumption that the average man knows what he wants and deserves to get it - good and hard.

It's not, but everyone seems to want to make it that way. Of the persons I know that are not getting vaccinated, I would say it's almost a 50/50 split political party wise.

Heck, even the recent news about the Texas contingency shows there are folks on both sides of the aisle not getting vaccinated.

When governments can force you (even if it's by travel restrictions or where you can work) to inject what they tell you into your body it becomes very political. There is definitely an ethical/moral dilemma there.

Certainly there are people of all stripes not getting vaxxed. However, I've seen many a set of statistics showing that the Trumpier the district, the less likely a person is to be vaxxed. I'd bet that in a less vaxxed district, even the dems are less likely to get it done. Fear is infectious.

I'm not sure I would even call the effort required to forging, since there is nothing about a vax card that is "anti-forge". It's more like making a copy.

I'm not sure what defines "Trumpiness" (Geez, I hope that isn't becoming part of the lexicon) but these folks (far left and far right) have always existed. As @humfrz posted before, every major vaccination campaign has had it's retractors.

A good number of Washington's Army resisted being inoculated against small pox, but that act may have been one of his biggest contributions to winning the Revolutionary War.

Interesting thing about the Revolutionary war pox vax situation. For a lon \g time Washington prohibited vaccinating the army. Several of his theatre commanders directly violated his orders and did so and in those units that didn't many of the soldiers did back alley - no, wait wrong procedure - they self vaccinated.

I was far to young to remember, but I remember my parents being desperate to get my sister and I vaccinated against polio. Polio may have been an exception, but there was limited resistance to it.

Here's a pretty quick discussion of the history of anti-vaccinism done well before the covid craziness.

edit: and a couple more. https://www.jhsph.edu/covid-19/artic...g-history.html

The following one may sound VERY familiar.

I literally just mean people who voted for Trump. I can see the confusion. The more a county voted for Trump, the less it gets vaccinated.

And I know people who voted for Biden who are anti-vax. I know it crosses lines, like everything else does.

My understanding of the history is that the British troops suffered far more from smallpox since so many of the Continentals were inoculated, and that helped win the war.
