new clutch slipping already?

Just put this ACT-SB8-HDSS clutch in..I am boosted..running it for a little over 500 miles now and it started to slip already..going to drop the trans tonight but before i do..anything think its anything else? I've already attempted to adjust the pedal with no noticeable outcome..only slips randomly like sometimes i can do a 1, 2nd, 3rd pull fine..other times i slam second and slippppp. but it the car still pulls its a weird slip.

Then right after that ill go to start off from first and itll slip like crazy.

Wondering if i just didnt break it in long enough. And from what i see all of ACT's clutch kits use the same pressure plate so hopefully i can drop the trans and pop a better disc in.

hmmmm........sounds like you clutch pedal doesn't have enough free play at the top.

How much does it have, when you adjusted the clutch travel .... ??

I recently had the same issue. I started off with the SB7-HDSS and it held 330 lb/ft for about 1000 miles and then I noticed it start to slip. Like you it would hold sometimes and then sometimes not, though I only tested this out two times after the second time I knew what I had on my hands and did not want to mess up the FW or PP surfaces. I called ACT and just picked up a sprung 6 puck disk and swapped that out and love it. I was worried it would be harder to drive, but I feel like it is easier to drive than the organic disk. Oh and another good thing about the 6 puck is that you really don't have to break it in too much.

I agree with M1K3 - i got ACT 6 puck with super light FW and HD pressure plate and i love it. Much easier to drive than stock or organic, very predictable - every F time. Truly a good advice.

I was hoping a 6 or 4 puck would give me a better pedal feel. Unlike most frs/brz owners im not to picky on how stiff the clutch is. Id actually prefer a stiffer pedal like all of my old s13s.

Welp might just order the damn disc now before i drop it.

This will fix the lack of feel.

If you've replaced your clutch, this is nothing. 40 bucks.

Wow didn't realize how long the car was down for..well new disc came in on friday. I dropped the trans out a week or so ago. Appears the disc just looks like it was slipping, so resurfaced the flywheel, cleaned up the pressure plate and put it back together with the new 4 puck disc.

Wish me luck.

All thats left is to add my fluid and put my shifter in. Also used this as an excuse to install a trans mount insert and a shifter bushing
