Yah. As of right now I have an old aim solo. One of my upgrades for 2021 is upgrading that to a new solo DL so I can log come OBD parameters. That is actually how we will be recording lap times for 86 cup since 2020 messed up the usual TT session.

Ooooh, nice. It'll be cool to see how you stack up against some forced-induction cars. I bet you'll do just fine. Good luck!

Depending on how awesome it is I might just follow 86cup around next year. I did switch to E85 recently. So at least I have that up my sleeve. We will see.

I was looking at the Aim solo 2 vanilla, and logging with a tactrix I already had. Does it really help you with your laptimes?

Here is a quick sample that I had. This is a comparison of two of my fast laps at Pineview Run. The top graph is GPS speed, second one down is lateral g's, then longitudinal g's, then the bottom one is a difference in the two laps over distance. Looking at that graph, you can see where I made up my time in the last few corners. That is the tell all graph. There is a also a gps map a sector time section that you can use as well. I do a lot of coaching with advanced drivers and, if they want, I will drive their car and use my data to compare to theirs. Anyway. I have gotten carried away with this post. If you have any questions just message me.

The DL gives you your throttle and brake inputs too which is valuable for trying to optimize your lap time. I heard from a few guys the DL is a bit buggy.

@mistople will have to chime in on that. I’d still prefer the DL. I have the vanilla.

After many attempts at a clean lap a 1.39.5 is the best I could do at NYST on this occasion. I appreciate the effort by 86 cup to recover as much of a season as they can but it was clear that the organization we went with was just about how many people they can sign up and physically fit on the track. There were trains of seemingly novice drivers everywhere. Even in the advance run group.
Fortunately, I squeaked out an OK lap in a morning warm up session while playing with a newly boosted friend. He held me up a little into turn 1 then gave me a great, time attack style point by into turn 2. According to the organization and the track, we were only supposed to point by to the left. So I hesitated when he pointed right. But since I know he is a safe driver, I eventually took the point anyway. The rest of the lap was ok, but I had predicted low 38s the rest of the day only to get held up half way through the lap with traffic. The 86cup guys were awesome and I hope to drive with them in the future. I am pretty happy with the results, finishing second among the boosted guys in the unlimited class. I hope to put up more of a fight for that P1 spot next year. Again, with my hand on the damn shifter. So rusty

Meh. Not very happy about it. But it was the best of the day. There is easily another 1 second on the table. That was a cold session with a lot of coasting. Thanks tho!

I had a depressingly low amount of on track pictures this year. But the last one is certainly the best. I feel like every track driver dreams of a picture of their car with some wheels in the air. lol. This is corner 7 (wheelie hill) at NYST.

Something I have been working on for a bit. Wider, lower and deeper splitter element that can be easily removed with no tools. Still working out strengthening the outer edges but the quick release works great. The end product will be alumilite. Just using the plywood as a proof of concept/template.

In between restoring my M3 I have been picking away at the splitter. I think I am going to go with 1/2" birch for this one for cost reasons. It is really low.
More exciting news, my 9 lives builders kit wang came in. I decided a while ago that if I was going to do a large element wing that it was going to be chassis mounted like the evasive time attack car. It still isn't mounted (the universal uprights have taken more cutting that I thought they would) but here is the concept. Here is my chassis mounting solution based on ML's mounts.
