In a interview with Toyota rep at the Celeb races they claimed a 10whp when combined with their TRD exhaust system

I think this intake looks great!

Who's going to be the first one with big-assed TRD banner across the windshield?

depends how much HP does it add? 20whp? or is it size dependent on banner?

If this makes good power... there's going to be a lot of sore losers.
Good to see someone going for it.

Now you just need to paint your brake calipers red for the extra 25HP.

Lol, this intake won't be any different from the rest. Just because it has pretty TRD letters on it doesn't give it auto HP.

Those cars also had no secondary CAT and were running on 100 octane.

I still think the FA20club, AMR, and Perrin intakes are the best performers due to design. That low end stutter that the OP is talking about I experienced with my aFe Takeda when I had it on. I swapped to the Perrin and immediately it went away and still returned the same gains and awesome intake growl.

This TRD intake is too similar to the aFe\Greddy ones. I doubt the size of the box is going to yield anymore gains than the others. The real question will be, what will the intake temps look like with its positioning?

I think everyone that wants this intake is not because they think it's better than any of the rest short ram intakes.

In fact, if it does perform anything similar to AFE, AEM or K&N, people would be happy with it. I believe a lot of people are hesitant to buy a intake because they won't want to risk voiding their warranty.

If this TRD intake provides similar gains to the rest of the short rams in the market and it keeps the warranty, then that's a WIN

That's very true.

The way the MAF sits, that definitely won't throw off the MAF readings.
