Off topic but still related. Mind boggling sphincter clenching.

Painfull to watch the landing of the BRZ.... (although it seems they go faster over the bridge than the WRX).
But we should not forget one thing: Rallye cars make use of a special combination of two springs for their suspension: - One soft main spring, that allows for optimal traction (as you just need soft spring rates for good traction in the wet, on bumpy roads or on gravel). - One stiff helper spring, that comes in to prevent the car in such situations from complete spring compression and hard ground contact. http://performance-suspension.eibach...tem__ers__calc If you go with only one spring - like all production cars do - it is fine to pick a softer spring, as such jumps are rarely done on usual roads, but good traction in the wet and on bumpy country roads are a big plus. At least better than stiff race track springs, that work only well on new, totally flat high quality tarmac. Last edited by ChrisH; 06-14-2012 at 04:10 PM. |
